Hi Raima,
I was surprised to see me rug on your site. May father bought this rug in the late 1960's in Mexico city and it is now sitting in my family room. It is a design that is timeless and we have never gotten tired of seeing it in our home. It has worn wonderfully through the years and the colors are just as vibrant as when he bought it. I have another Cynthia Sargent in my living room but don't know what it is called. We love them both very much.

My goodness, Dan, you are one lucky guy and the son of a man with excellent taste!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your story.

Hello Reina
I am really pleased to see that people still have and cherish my mother's rugs. All of her designs have a name and if Dan wants to know the name of his second rug, he can get information by visiting Hillaryriggs.com, my sister's web site.

Hi Raina,

Thanks to the Riggs-Sargent family, I have an image on my blog of Cynthia's showroom back in the 1960s as well as some additional information about Cynthia and Wendell Riggs.

Hello, Raina.

To learn more about Cynthia Sargent and her work, check out the article I wrote about her for the spring 2009 issue of Modernism magazine.
