Is it wrong that I have taken to covering everything in sheepskin???

Oh, and what do you think about black stained concrete floors with cream cabinets, as per la picture? In our sketch up it looks awful, but it's so pretty in the picture.

ps: any experience with soapstone counters?

Given the striations, I'm pretty sure that is a dark-stained wood floor in the photo.

Stained concrete will show wear patterns in a highly trafficked area like a kitchen. Go with natural, and polish and seal it. I had that in two of my stores and it wore beautifully. Your house is on a slab, right?

I've never put soapstone into a client's house (for the price they always end up wanting granite - yech). Seal it when first installed and then periodically reseal it every six months to a year depending on what your fabricator recommends.

And, no, there is nothing wrong with covering the world in sheepskin. I wish I could get a deal-io on some for you here, but they're dear here too.
