Baby Heebs on special

Yesterday, The Pea crawled into my monogrammed* camo (militant Zionist) tote bag and demanded to be carried around. LB came down the hall saying he had gone shopping at the Jew store and had brought home a baby Jew. He kills me.

*Many months ago, a comment I left on another design blog cracked NKP up so much that she just had to check Lamp Shade out and became one of my first followers. The question was "Are you for or against monogramming?". I said that being one of the Chosen People, I monogram everything J-E-W.

Okay, hands down my favorite post ever! You are crazy, but I LOVE IT (the bag) and wish I had done it first! The Pea seems to have inherited her zany mother's sense of humor, lucky girl. She is such a cutie and I love the bag.

p.s.- check out my blog for the details on that chair.

...wonder what the people at LL Bean thought...

I have a question about this since you are of the Hebrew persuasion:

My good friend's wife's name is Julie. She was raised atheist and somewhat quirky. She insists that everyone call her Jew and she also collects jewish things. (Menorahs, etc) Neither her nor her husband are Jewish.

Oh yeah. Their last name is Adolph.

Is that just tacky to go by "Jew" eventhough you are not Jewish? I think so but then again, I'm not Jewish and I was also raised in Berlin where we are very sensitive to these issues.

What do you think?

Putzy,

If she were truly committed to living a Jewish life, I would hope your friend's wife would formally convert. If she doesn't attend synagogue and participate in Jewish life cycle ceremonies (High Holidays, etc.), I would think the whole thing to be a bit strange.

Baby-In-A-Bag! Are there more? I'd like to place an order: extra cute (like the one in the pic), hold the "no", guaranteed not to have an attitude in the 'tween years.

What a hoot - she is just one adorable kid! Personally I am not one for monogramming - but I love the approach of monogramming with something very nontraditional...

You guys are totally a great family!

I fell in love with you because of that comment too. Awwww.

If all baby Jews look like that, I want to go shopping at the Jew store, too.

The Pea is so cute it hurts. Must be my hormones going into overdrive.

by the way, every time I see this post I giggle thinking about the poor hapless people at LL Bean who received your monogram order. I can just see someone muttering to their co-worker, "wow, what a set of initials!" Makes me think about what other three-letter-words would make genius monograms...
