Yes We Can...decorate

Riding the wave of inauguration excitement, Swedish furniture retailer Ikea recently created a mock Oval Office in a New York City subway station to lobby for "fiscally responsible home furnishings." Ikea's new website, "Embrace Change '09," will soon have an interactive White House design tool.

Sweeeeeeeet! Coincidentally, my post tomorrow includes an homage to Ikea, soon to deck my kitchen halls. I think maybe people are tired of fat chairs.

As much as I dont feel the love for Ikea (who by the way induce tourettes' syndrome in me when walking through the store - because of the terrible quality of the chipboard sofas and other bad quality items) but I gotta say - this is clever marketing from them!

Oh that is so funny. Gotta love IKEA. I can't believe that I live in NY and had no idea what was going on. Thanks for keeping me in the know all the way from NZ.

Erin,

You will love your IKEA kitchen. I just re-did my kitchen and it is all IKEA! My MIL looked at me like I was crazy, but the price was right and they have great reviews. I love it.

Hey there HHFITD (oh, that's much too long - I must come up with a nickname for you) and welcome to this deliciousness!

Your profile pic is super sassy BTW.

Love/hate relationship with IKEA these days, but that is some excellent marketing.
