The only time you'll see subway tile here

Desire to Inspire.

If you must have that whole white cabinets/Carrara counters/subway tile thing going on in your kitchen, at least consider a shot of color. Please.

I know it has all been done before and you see it time and time again, but I really do like this look. This application of subway tiles is really refreshing and makes for a happy room. Although the bar stools and that matching blue cushion bother me, and I don't really know why...too staged?

I'm shocked you didn't say anything about the lemons, are they the "new" bowl of green apples? ;0)

It's very easy on the eyes. I just get a little crazypants when someone says they're remodeling their kitchen and going for this look, all excited like it's the newest hottest thing.

Those bar stools came from some other part of the kitchen. That end of the island was not made for seating.

Those back-to-back sinks are all sorts of strange too.

I hear what you're saying...but I hate blue in kitchens. Just my opinion.

Oh, I love carrara marble and white subway tiles!! I would've redone my kitchen in it but I can't justify a kitchen redo so I'm doing a stall shower (which I WAS going to post on until you shamed me out of it) with subway tile and carrara basketweave marble tile.

Well, until I got the price anyway.

*sob*

P.S. I have that kitchen in my files. And I'll probably still post it anyway. :-)

My friend is doing her kitchen (in a one bedroom apartment in DC) ALL WHITE (well, with silver SMEG fridge, wood floors, maybe the stove has some stainless?) Her contractor tried to convince her to do some sort of mosaic backsplash for at least some difference in colour, but she is pushing allwhiteallwhiteallwhite. I kind of agree with her in that it's annoying to get into a kitchen (she will prob rent the place out in a year) and be narrowed into particular colour scheme... but then it does seem like she needs some contrast.

I'm mortified to tell you that we have lots of white subway tile in our house! I'm going to delude myself into thinking that you would like ours! :)

Um, dont shame me, but I likey.
I'd much rather a subway tile than a hiddy border like all the kitchen sales peeps try to push on unsuspecting shoppers here! Just recently saved mother in law from using a denim print mini subway tile as a border -ugh, I shudder at the thought!

I've had subway tile in two kitchens and I love it. I like it even more in that blue.

My kitchen is a case of white cabinets, white tile, steel and granite countertops. But, there's color......

You have a fantastic-looking kitchen, Sol!

And welcome to this deliciousness.

A backsplash post would be great since I can't figure out what would look good with soapstone, white cabs and wood floors. I could do a soapstone border, but...

Eh. I don't know.
