Dinner on top of a mountain

We celebrated LB's birthday today with dinner at a mountain-top restaurant accessible only by gondola. Though located less than 5 miles from our house, it has taken us nearly two years to get our tuchuses there. The building is tucked behind the peak to the left.

The gondola arrives for The Pea and LB.

Closing in on the top. The Pacific Ocean is to the right
of the peninsula, the estuary to the left. The Southern Alps
mountain range in the distance is nearly obscured by haze.

The Pea lost her mind every time another gondola passed.

At the top, overlooking Lyttelton Harbor. The large island to
the right has in the past been both a leper and a penal colony.

And the rarely photographed me.
