Geographically inappropriate architecture

This faux adobe house sits at the base of a hill in the village next to ours. About 500 feet from the ocean. In a climate as wet as Seattle's.

I can't stand stuff like that! We have a hacienda nearby--can they not tell it doesn't fit in with all the old Victorians and Farmhouses????????

Actually, hubby is outside right now hanging some fantastically lovely vintage lights on the porch. Next project: Burn all the stupid lattice work.

HG, I took the photo on a rainy day to prove my climate point. The paint finish has not held up to the elements. The entire building is streaked and looks vaguely tie-dyed.

The woman who owns it rents it out for weddings (!). It must be pretty popular because I have driven by and seen 3 this summer.

The house next door is this whack-a-doo James Bond fantasy. Hilarious.
