The land of the long white cloud

A front is blowing up from the Antarctic covering the Southern Alps.

This is how New Zealand came to be called "Aotearoa," Maori for "The Land of the Long White Cloud."

A reminder of what the mountains usually look like.

Now that's charming, cloudy or clear. Where you gonna get a view like that at home?

It looks like a giant wave in the photos, does it look that way in person? So awesome and cool. As I've said a million times, it beats the hell out of the rednecks I see out my back window

A warm hello to both Vicki Archer and Matt!

Matt, Although I've read about this phenomenon, this was the first time in two years I'd actually witnessed it. It held its shape for about ten minutes and then the entire city was covered in fog.
