All in all, blech...and that's not me clearing my throat. I'm not all that into the colors and I just don't get the overall aesthetic.
But hey, if they want to throw the disco ball my way when they dismantle the fun house, oops, I mean "show house," I won't say no.
gosh. Why? Why? I have good taste, but I don't have the 4K to get an egg chair. THAT'S NOT FAIR.
Every one of these rooms cries THE HORROR!!!! THE HORROR!!!!!!! (yes I?m quoting Conrad, I'm too freaking awesome)
4-6 my favorites, but not making me weak at the knees...
don't think any are that great...
Wow -- thanks for the sneak peek. But, the rooms just aren't dazzling...
Well, nothing in that house really does much for me. I liked the colors in the first living room until I paged down and saw the brown furniture. Ick. I usually don't care for any shade of blue, but quite like the turquoise blue there.
The rest are just awful, with special note to that man-eating headboard. Nightmare inducing I think.
the headboard in #2 scares me a little.
John Ike's bedroom looks like someone is about to be sacrificed.
Or an old Brady Bunch episode from Hawaii.
the only one i half-way like is #4.
The rest? they feel beyond forced.
am i missing something?
Hee hee, I like the man eating sacrificial bedroom! At least it has some personality. The rest of the rooms are the same old, rehashed shit we've all seen a billion times -- too stuffy, too formal, too contrived. Not that they aren't *nice*, but come on? Is this really the best of the best?
Oh, and the Panic Room is too weird even for me.
I really really like Jamie Drake's living room.
Two words: Bo-ring!
Loved them all except for that awful lion headboard.. I dislike shades of purple but that bed looked comfy! Who doesn't like a panic room with a fire place?
Hello Balseiro and welcome to this deliciousness!
i'm not digging the pics. i dunno what it is about them, just blah.
HMMM some are weird, some look great. I'm so excited though because I get to be a volunteer this year! I'm sure I'll just be walked all over and/yelled at BUT WHAT A THRILL!
can't wait!
Miz Alicia, you will be blogging about your experience I hope.
File this under "things I never imagined would come out of my mouth," but I really like the Jamie Drake room.
yukko.
Bits & peices I can dig.
I love the upholstery on Bunny's chairs (as I have it myself..) and like some of the things in there - but just not together. The scary head board IS scary but i think its kinda perfect for display show!
I quite like Jamie Drakes room, but want to change his lamps.
No thank you for the purple except I will have the painting (bet I could whip that up myself quite easily!!)
Juans' room perhaps more interesting at a different angle as usually velvet diamond buttoning/ tuffting pushes my buttons.
And then finally the panic room, -is it called so as induces panic & fear into people?
Apologies for my verbal blah - I have the flu & don't have an edit button in my world right now!!
3M, from Wiki: "A safe room or panic room is a fortified room which is installed in a private residence or business to provide a safe hiding place for the inhabitants in the event of a break-in, home invasion, or other threat. Safe rooms usually contain communications equipment, so that law enforcement authorities can be contacted."
But in this case, I would agree with your assessment.
CRINGE. i hate them all, but i could do something fun with ike's bedspread. :)
Oh snap, I know I commented on this earlier. I hate when they don't show up. Let's all imagine it was very very funny. Hmm, what did I say?
I don't remember, but I know I don't really like any of these rooms, they just all seem to be trying too hard.
Panic room - yeah I saw the movie! But if some crazy dude was breaking into my house, this panic room wouldn't really be soothing the nerves!!
just caught another look at room #1. I hate it.
I would be so damned scared to go to sleep in the bedroom designed by John Ike. Just creepy!
the artwork is horrible! aghhhh even the george condo hmph!
