I really like saturated colors. I don't, however, find that one (the blue) to be one that I like.

That mirror is insane and especially so with the uber-minimalist looking fireplace.

The whole room is jarring. It's probably not an inexpensive room, but it's coming to me off as "fancy cheap."

Clearly, I can't write English before 9:15 am.

That blue color, especially so early in the am makes me seasick. It is just gross. And, while I like eclectic interiors there is a difference between eclectic and using the first 10 things you see...I no like it.

I love the blue and wish they could have made it work, but the random/yellow decor scheme doesn't really help at all.

yech.
I have no formal training, but even I can tell that the "value? shade? hue?" of the colors is off.
jarring is a good adjective, lucitebox.

I'd like my mum would chose a lighter shade of blu for a wall of her sitting room

Great colors for a glossy photo, but I could never live with them. Muddy 'em up and tone 'em down please.

Ok, I know I'm not supposed to say this but I really don't hate it. It's a little off, the proportions aren't quite right and things need to be moved around but it isn't the worst thing you've ever asked for our opinion on.

Also, i would go down on a football team for that mirror.

I don't hate the wall color or the mirror. But in combination with the black granite, stumpy columns and dizzying carpet, it doesn't work.

None of it is horrible in isolation, but together it makes my eyes bleed.

Love the color, hate the mirror and all the yellow bits. With a different rug and more neutral pillows, the walls would be the statment instead of competing with the accessories.

Too much for me!

For some reason I rarely like blue walls, and when I do, they're always pale, watery blues.

I DO like the mirror. Don't be ashamed Karly, I've done worse for less. =)

Well, i love this! The coffee tables are vile but the colours, the low sofa's, the gilt, the black glass is just interior porn to me, sorry! xx

The blue is a little bit too Finding Nemo for me...

Karly, you made me laugh with your mirror comment.

Hate it...rather than complimenting the art, the colors are a distraction. I do love the cocktail tables...

that blue hurts my brain.

Ah I KNEW i knew that room.
See here: http://blog.camillamolders.com.au/?p=958

As you can read for yourself - i DO really dig this space as Mr Browne is a clever fella, but the angles of these pictures make the space look just a bit wrong! The washed out pics in the real estate pics are beneficial also - me thinks!

Thanks, 3M, for that link! The context makes a difference.

How can I feel so ambivalent about such a crazy room? But I do. I would never live there, but I don't hate.

Brandie said...

Wow! This is almost exactly how I envision my room! My walls are already the same blue and my headboard is already gold...now if only I could get the rest of it together!
