Life is too short to live ugly.
Ha! Everything old is new again. Ditch the shag carpet, and I'll take the green & white living/dining. Love the sofa.
I like that sofa too. Boy needs a bureau. I think I have to make an IKEA pilgrimage. I sort of hate that place. In a rat maze sort of way.
I'll say all the upholstery, the white bookcase in photo three, and the case pieces on the right in the last photo.Really though, if you fine-tuned the colors and the carpets they'd be very popular rooms today.
Ok so some of these designs may stand the test of time.....but I would highly doubt that any bit of Ikea furniture from 1965 is still in working condition now! Its not a name i associate with quality!
I love the center chair in the 2nd photo! I have a love/hate thing with Ikea. I'm in love-mode right now... just helped my friend shop for her daughter's college dorm room.
I, too, have a love/hate and am currently in love phase. But I had no idea (does this disqualify me from anything?) that they've been around so long. I love that catalog!
Loving all the seating. Pretty much without exception. And the big telly, of course. Those haven't dated at all.

No way! This may sound super ignorant but I didn't know Ikea even existed then.
I think almost all of it stands the test of time! Maybe that's just because I'm in a bit of a retro phase right now.
I don't know if it would literally stand the test of time. I've never met an IKEA piece from that era, heck, I'm not even from that era. But style-wise I love those thonet-esque red chairs and the pendant lamp in the first shot.
I'm am still amazed at how much there catalog style hasn't changed since the 60s! Wow!
This makes me want to never throw out any catalogs ever again. I'm kind of digging the orange sofa and chair in the last shot.
Amy B. - Hello and welcome to this deliciousness!
I would flip my shit if this showed up on my doorstep today
Fab!Now I want to see one from the mid-eighties...
Dont they still sell most of that stuff now!? Wow, cant believe it, i wonder how much of it is still in swedish homes now.
