One of my last posts from New Zealand

While Kiwis publicly blame many of their societal woes on American culture, they secretly are fascinated with anything Stars and Stripes. Case in point, Capone's Restaurant in the tiny town of Rangiora 15 miles north of Christchurch. While I've never eaten there, it's pretty safe to guess they serve Italian fare. A close-up of the sign below.

On the moving front, yesterday was incredibly busy. The movers finished packing us up, I dropped our unwanteds at the Salvation Army (the "Sallies" over here), wrapped up my last online auction (The Pea's carseat), and generally spent the day running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

We settled into the hotel we'll be at until we fly out. For the next few days, we're going to play tourist in the Christchurch. Internet connection at our hotel costs $8 an hour, so my posting will be light to say the least. If you're dying for some design porn, posts for The Daily Bed have been programmed until the end of July.

Dumplings, please keep your bits crossed for a swift and trouble-free journey for us (we have a toddler in tow).

Hugs and inappropriate groping,

Mama R.

I think everyone around the world is pretty much the same way and really, who can blame them? Ha! In Spain, we walked around town with our iphones in the air looking for free wifi because we couldn't deal with the hotel's rates. Give that a go. We didn't look like idiots at all. Bon voyage!

I wish you boring and uneventful travels with luggage that makes it the entire way!

Free Wireless as the Central LIbrary in Gloucester St. South, Fendalton and New Brighton too. Just so I can keep up for a few more days.
