Is my chair famous?

A couple of days ago, new momma and Design Crisis blogger Erin asked if my new chair is a Thayer Coggin. Because of its low price, I said,"Surely not."

This morning, curiosity got the better of me and I did some interwebs searching. I found a Thayer Coggin, above, which looks an awful lot like my new purchase, below. I've left the piece at the shop until we close on our house next month (oops! - that's outta the bag), so I can't inspect it for manufacturer labels or markings.

What do you think, Dumplings? Might I have something fab on my hands?

whoooah ! staeady there lady have I missed something about your new house? Which one is it? Are there pictures?
Anyhow, chair, I'm reckoning is famous and under a disguise name like 'Mr Smith' in the a swanky hotel. Definitely.
My mother used to make us kids go through the skips outside peoples house pulling out stuff for her, she got some prize pieces (thanks to my sis and I having discerning eyes). She sold them on and we got a chocolate bar. Everyone happy.

*score*!
I think it is indeed a Thayer Coggin. (not that i had any earthly idea who/what that was) but they look identical! ;)

aka Milo Baughman, and I still vote "yea."

Kate - All will be revealed once we close in 2 1/2 weeks.

A chocolate bar? Methinks Mum owes you some back pay.

I think you've got a good one there, and I like yours better in both color and fabric.

House?! 2 1/2 weeks? Anticipation kills me!

It sure looks like the real "McCoy." Time will tell us all. Can't wait to find out if it is indeed the classic chair or a knock-off. Speaking of which, I just posted about a new spin on a few modern furniture classics as well. Congratulations on the new house! Naughty girl ... keeping that news from us! Can't wait to see it!

Well either way it's fabulous, but if it were the real deal, now that would be awesome! My vision isn't what it once was, but damn if they don't look identical!

Sol - Eventually, I will give the chair a makeover. But for now, repairs for the new house are eating up our cash.

Oh I think it's definitely the real thing. You can tell by the front where the arms curve over the support. Yep, you're genius for recognizing a gem and snatching her up!

Oops. I did it again. The above "Isabel" is really me. Susie.
