Rock the vote

Take Two in the quest to find a paint color for Raina and LB's master bedroom. You may remember my first attempt at the perfect deep charcoal with a hint of green and a smidgen of cocoa. Today was the second trip to my friendly Benjamin Moore dealer for more sample pots. With the top two, I attempted to come close to Farrow & Ball's Down Pipe which AB Chao used to much recent acclaim.

We have from top to bottom: Knoxville Gray, Aegean Teal, River Rock, Southern Vine, and Salamander.

A close-up of Knoxville Gray, Aegean Teal, and River Rock.

A close-up of River Rock and Southern Vine.

So, Dumplings, which one is tickling your fancy? P.S. That carpet is not staying.

I like River Rock and Southern Vine with a slight preference for River Rock

I vote River Rock, but I'm a sucker for most anything grey.

It's soooo hard to tell on the computer, but I think I like the tipy-top one the best, Knoxville Gray

Odd as I didn't care for Salamander, I find myself digging Southern Vine.

I like Salamander the most - I feel like it conveys the 'sleep cave' feeling without being too dark or...dare I say...poop colored.

I like Knoxville Gray or River Rock.

I have to vote for Aegean Teal as it is almost exactly the color of my bedroom and that is my favorite room in the whole house now. It gives off a mild sleep-cave vibe but is still beautiful in the light (and it looks like you will have some light from that interesting window).

Im casting a vote for either the Knoxville gray or Agean teal - with a slight preference for the teal- as I think the gray could be a bit depressing to live within if there aint to much natural light. On my screen the bottom 2 look a little like the pea regressed and played paints with the diaper goodies!!

Pratt and Lambert has a great gray called London Fog.. you should check it out.

I like the first two with the greyish tones, the ones below to me just say "poopy, poopy and mekonium.
Can you tell I have kids?

hilarious

Another vote for Southern Vine. I think the subtle green tint creates an interesting tension with the navy in the coverlet.

Oh dear. This is so difficult! I am trying to ignore my personal preferences and pick the best color based on your agenda. The first three are all lovely.. "deep charcoal with a hint of green and a smidgen of cocoa." River rock it is. Though something needs to get painted salamander... It will give the room the "Hashai Treatment" with slight green undertones.

PS. I think you are subconsciously leaning toward river rock because you labeled your post "ROCK the vote"...

I vote for Knoxville Gray, I think it is the closest to Down Pipe. At least on my monitor ;-)

the last 3 look like diarrhea to me, sorry. what would Freud say?

wool and misc, I'm really worried about your health. Diarrhea of that color can only mean you're terminal.
Anyhoo, I vote for river rock.

I like River Rock... I would never be allowed such a dark color... love it.

River Rock, but why not use Down Pipe if you love it?

I also like the Knoxville Gray and Aegean Teal, but I'm having trouble envisioning either of them with the way the bed is dressed.

I vote for River Rock too. It's more Down Pipey than Knoxville Gray, yes?

Oh boy -- are these the final choices? Do you have one more sample in you?
If so, please try Ben. Moore Day's End 2133-30
It is the perfect dark gray. Perfect.
(It looks very dark on the chip - but it comes alive on the wall!)

p.s -- the bed/bedding looks GREAT. :)

My vote: Knoxville Gray with Southern Vine a close second. Paint it already! I'm dying to see the outcome! ;0)

The top one is best if it's a true grey. It looked a touch green on my screen but I'm sure it's not. My bedroom walls are Dunn Edwards Grey Flannel. A very, grey grey. Nice choices!

KNOXVILLE GRAY!!!!! (or GREY as we say over here!LOL!)
Can you get hold of Downpipe? It's a beautiful colour!

Let me just say that I do not hate Salamander. I think the top two are too light. Is River Rock going to look brownish?

Can I direct you to this post that has the most amazing image and description of a color palette by Nick Olsen? I think there may be some inspiration in there for you... Maybe.

Are the polls closed? If not, I vote Knoxville Gray or River Rock. Aegean Teal looks too light, Southern Vine looks too poopy. Salamander looks so much better this time around. It's a very intriguing color. How do these colors look in various light? I love wall colors that seem to change chroma throughout the day.

I am terrible at picking wall colors, so I would not dare opine, but I can't wait to see what you choose!
