Truly horrid. I think my stomach hurts.

{ And what's that pile of stuff to the right? Newspapers? A stewardess cap from 1969? Flower droppings? More fun styling from Living Etc. }

The only thing missing from this vignette is a rock encased in a crocheted sweater! Need I say more? ;0)

I just can't believe this was in Living Etc -- I really expect better from them.

I have this photo in my "WTF" file for a future blog - you beat me to it.

I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now, I love your writing style.

And welcome to Denver, hope to meet you at a design event sometime.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. the floral is fine, scrap the frame, replace it with a mirror (or put a mirror in it) and place the flowers where they ought to be, on the table. Can't tell if the table's tacky or not though.. The bowl of fruit and little vase are too small, the scale is off but so is the decorator...

First thing that popped into my head was "Italian grandmother funeral".

Angie and Diane - Welcome to this deliciousness!

Jamie Foley - Hello to you too! No need to wait for a design event to roll around. Just drop me a line sometime at lampshadeblog@gmail.com.

LOL! Griffo, it's from the feature on Dutch Old Master inspired decor a few months ago. The blue shade of the little vessel on the left is about the only good thing about it. It might even have been in the same issue as the famous 'how to' on fabric covering floating shelves. :-{

I'm not happy. It looks like an "afternoon craft project" that someone found in a B-list design magazine listed as something to really liven up the front hall. MISERY.

I still love Living etc though.

My lord, that is the identical arrangment that sat upon my Mississippi grandmother's pier mirror! Boy, this image takes me back........

Erin!!! My god how could you forward this through the interwebs??

Raina, this is the worst "your thoughts please" yet truly one for the record books

And it's so beautifully illuminated with energy-saving florescent lights!

Blech!

Dang it, my vision was just recovering after your post from yesterday! I'm not sure which of the two is worse - may have to lean towards the brothel shabby chic based on sheer volume of visual horror. Today's at least (cross your fingers) is limited to just one vignette.

What gives with my love "The Daily Bed?!" You serious? Boo hoo. It won't even let me comment and I love to have the last word.

And I was just getting ready to play catch-up. Sigh....

Oh well, gives me more time for La Lampshade. ;0)

Seems to be trying way too hard.

Sorry, NKP. Two blogs had become one too many.

I apologize for the comment issue. Blogger had some sort of "upgrade" that I never should have clicked on and now the blog is out of sorts.

Ok, ok I get whats going on here- Its yet another sad result of the global financial crisis....Living etc are publishing stuff from readers 'real' homes........I refuse to believe its anything but!

No No No No No

and I'm just going to pretend that it wasn't actually in Living Etc.

And I thought Livingetc. could no wrong. Well, I guess I was wrong. And this is seriously wrong.

Hee hee, I'm still laughing!

And Karly, I was afraid this picture might break the internet, but its evil force is very strong.
