Homage or horr-age?

Tumblr.

Drollgirl sent me this photo yesterday knowing I would find this craftulent vertigo-inducing staircase a winner. I'm pretty sure it was inspired by artist Jim Lambie's installation at the Tate Britain's 2003 "Days Like These" exhibition.

The Independent.

So, Dumplings, homage or horr-age?

I have a migraine, the stairs are not helping. But under normal circumstances I think I would like them. Live with them? Perhaps not. But I appreciate the work that went into that 'little' project!

the stairs are awesome to the max. the other space is a bit much, but I wouldn't mind seeing it in person... only for about 30 seconds.

I can't quite decide if I love or hate it, but my intial reaction is, "who has that kind of time?" doing all that taping must have taken hours that could have been better devoted to watching bravo trainwrecks.

And when you fall down the stairs, it looks like this Sol LeWitt installation at my beloved Wadsworth Atheneum (which is also, coincidentally, in a staircase...):

I am a klutz as is and those stairs would surely cause me to break my neck. I'm a big fan of color but this is making my brain cry.

I could feel passionate love for the stairs IF they were a diff colour arrangement, The green is ruining it for me. Once its fixed you will find my rolling around on the floor at the tate!

You know I love those stairs.

Love, love, love them! They remind me of the "supergraphics" of the 70's. Think: Peter Max, Warhol, and this kind of stuff: http://www.flickr.com/photos/97897149@N00/1502495275

If I could do a backflip, I would have. I LOVE those stairs. In my own house, I'd take David's suggestion and go for the grayscale version.
