Lady scarves on men

Janky, jaunty, or just plain hot?

I'm going to go with "femey". Meaning no straight man should do that. Ever.

I think a very few men can rock this look. Robert is one of them. Most, however, should not try this at home. Or elsewhere for that matter.

If he's wearing it - hot.

I need to learn to stop drinking coffee and reading blogs. I choke too much when (you especially ma'am!) make me gasp, or surprised or all twitterpated. HOT HOT HOT. RDJ can wear whatever he wants.

Only hot on a handful of men, which of course includes Robert Downey, Jr. But for most 'regular' dudes - NO.

Well, every hipster in Austin thinks it's hot, so... no. Although RDJ is pretty damn jaunty.

RDJ can wear whatever the hell he wants. love it.
i think all scarves are kinda sexy though, so i might be biased.
my hub. rocks my scarves all the time.

LOVE the word janky but RDJ is the epitome of jaunty...even when he decides to knot Prince's spandex pants around his neck.

Cristin said...

Yeah, he can do no wrong. He could improve on the look by wearing NOTHING but that scarf...yes, that would work for me.

I think its hoty hot hot. All the cute (gay) designers in the D & D are sporting them!

If I ever saw matt in one of those I would expect to be immediately served with divorce papers on the grounds that he discovered his homosexuality.

give me RDJ in any sauce. I don't care. He's my boyfriend.

Totally depends on the dude. I find very few straight men can pull it off - unless they're European. Like the murse.

I think that most men could not get away with this look, but I also think that there are very few looks that Robert Downey, Jr. wouldn't get away with.

RDJ- yes
My husband- hell no

I'm with Cristin, he shouldn't be wearing anything else.

Even if the scarf was made from re-purposed orla kiely sheets and featured on etsy...

...the man would continue to be insanely hot.

David said...

I like it, but you've got to have enough personality to pull it off. Or be French. French men make it look really easy.

I like it alot, especially on a man who's not too peachy smooth and manicured.

definitely plain hot! life's too short to live ugly!!!

So so so good! I can't pick a favorite part, I just love every single thing and adore it all together!!!!! So happy to see you back in the states and finally able to flex your decorating muscles!!!

agree with the others... only RDJ, or arguably Colin Farrell. The list ends there.

I think we really need to be discussing his double cardigan look. but the scarf looks rediculous.

sherri said...

and uh, what's janky mean?

erin@designcrisis said...

janky = hamajang

that should clear things up!

Sherri - It was the 4/26/06 Urban Dictionary word of the day, which is hilarious because that's the day LB and I were married.

"(adjective) inferior quality; held in low social regard; old and delapidated; refers almost exclusively to inanimate material objects, not to people."

ok, i am going to be a giant dick here and stray slightly off topic. i CANNOT STAND ROBERT DOWNEY JUNIOR. he bugs the hell out of me. and the scarf does NOT help. then again, i can't think of a single thing that would make me like this man, short of a personality, face, voice, and body transplant.
