Three things that cracked me up

Barney's creative director Simon Doonan (husband of Jonathan Adler) with fashion designer L'Wren Scott (girlfriend of Mick Jagger). She's a former model and 6'-3".

From Barney's blog "B Sides." It's the one retailer blog that doesn't shove merchandise down your throat or blare sale messages. Just cool behind-the-scenes stuff at their headquarters.

A Lady Gaga scarecrow. She's never looked better.

Alex Katz's emasculating portrait of Vogue editrix Anna Wintour.
Unveiled today, the piece will hang in the National Portrait Gallery in London.

A reminder of what La Wintour really looks like.
Did the temperature in the room just drop 20 degrees?

I only started my blog so that I could befriend Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler, and I'm only partially kidding about that.
As for Anna Wintour, I am terrified of her and would prefer that she stay at least 30 miles away from me at all times.

My favorite thing about Wintour is all the nicknames that the Fug Girls have for her, all of which revolve around The Haircut... Lady Bobbingsworth, etc.

oh, and they're not ground-breaking fashion, but I ADORE L'Wren's clothes with their razor-sharp, figure-loving cuts.

L'Wren's legs freak me out a little.

Yes just freaking a little!

I can't imagine Anna is too thrilled with that particular likeness.

love adler and doonan. that wintour portrait just doesn't look like her much at all. that woman in the portrait looks as if she has the ability to crack a smile for one thing. may you have lots more things to crack you up this weekend!

L'Wren has legs up to her neck!

I so totally wish I was as creative as the Lady Gaga scarecrow people. Or as tall and thin as L'Wren. or had a cool name like that. Okay, I could go on...

I love Anna and even her last name gives me the shivers.

Beauty tip for Ms Wintour: if she turned up the corners of her mouth, just the teeniest, tiniest bit, it acts as a mini facelift and those jowls would all but disappear!

just sayin.

Alex Katz just dominates the art scene here in Maine. I assume it's because he's donated huge amounts of his work to all the museums. I also assume it's the stuff that didn't sell. But it does mean that in all our geographically huge, population starved state, you're rarely more than 50 miles from a giant size cartoon portrait of someone standing at a cocktail party.

As for La Wintour, brrrr, indeed. You're not old enough to remember when she took over House & Garden, at the time, pre Elle Decor, the best American shelter magazine. She overnight turned it into HG, America's silliest shelter magazine. I've never forgiven her.

She annoys me, but I still plan to cut my hair like that when I get older.
