The happiest furniture on Earth

Italian fine furniture maker Cappellini has partnered with Disney to create an "upscale" furniture brand, Walt Disney Signature.

*sigh*

A sneak peek of the line was offered at a recent design showcase hosted by Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA). The collection will officially premiere April 14th at the Milan furniture fair in Italy. Oh, those lucky Italians. First Berlusconi, and now this.

Nendo stool with mouse ears.

I wonder if the designers of the original pieces have any say about their work being "mouse-ercized"? Probably not.

Patrick Norguet's "Rive Droite" chair with mouse head fabric.

When will Disney's tyrannical grip on "adult" products end????

Branding on steroids.

That stool doesn't look very kid friendly. I can see little heads getting stuck in those sharp loops. I'm not familiar with the adult shape, but if you take off those ears it would look pretty cool.

I could live with the Rive Droite chair. I would just pretend that the fabric had nothing to do with mouse ears.

I am in desperate need of an arm chair for our living room that is comfortable and does not cost more than my mortgage. Also, it should have nothing to do with Mickey Mouse.

Any suggestions?

Alexis - It's a cliche now, but Craigslist is the best place to start. Given your proximity to NYC, you should have a hella good selection to choose from.

Yeah - not big on Disney characters for adults...though you maybe could argue the below chair in some way works...sort of kind of
