With a coffee table?

I can just feel my foot kicking over the red wine.

Put some legs on that puppy and I'm good to go, but come on, this is a little ridiculous. It's a gorgeous surface, but even at 37 I am way too old to bend down that low to retrieve the remote.

However, when we were looking for a coffee table for our basement, the Mister took it upon himself to order one. Without prior consultation. Can you even imagine! What was he thinking! But I do have to say, after some initial trepidation, I love our coffee table on the down low.

our eames elliptical coffee table is way too low but that is ridiculous.

Too bad that beautiful marble looks like its being eaten by the shag rug.

Alexandra Rae - Hello and welcome to this deliciousness!

NKP - That's a handsome table, I've looked at that many times myself and nearly bought it for our master bedroom. Usually, I tend towards tea table height. I'm supremely lazy.

Where do you find this cr@p? LOL

I am not really sure you can call that a table...

The Shiny Pebble - Desire to Inspire is a treasure trove of the often good, the sometimes bad, and the infrequent ugly. It's the ugly that I usually find most interesting.

Appletree - Very large cheeseboard?

I swear -- I was just typing you an email suggesting this very photo for a "Your Thoughts Please" category! I love that chunky hunky slab of marble. But, directly on the floor it does look like a cheeseboard!

Like "my favorite and my best", my toes hurt just looking at it. I love a low coffee table, but this is just silly!

Oh, no! That is not a coffee table. That is the top of a copy table that is missing its legs.

I'd love to diss it, but as I am sitting on the floor pretty much all day long already...

I could see it working for the vertically challenged.

it looks like a someone dropped a marble slab on the way to the funeral home, and just said, fuck it, that'll work, add some flowers, I think we are done here. Personally, super low coffee tables have always bugged me.

Teri said...

Damn it! I just stubbed my big toe on it and got blood on the shag rug!

And, it does absolutely nothing for the room. Although, I like the flowers.

i want some stubby lil 3" blocks on there. just so the cat can hide!

love the large scale painting.

channeling karly @designcrisis and hating on the plantage.

At this height, it is easier for the homeowners to snort fresh coke off it since they are already lying on the floor from the last go-round.

David said...

Come up to the lab, and see what's on the slab!

erin@designcrisis said...

ita darling, Karly has no hate for kingdom plantae -- it's wee, vertically challenged me that hates the shit out of them.

And seriously guys, if you have a baby, this may be the greatest coffee table ever. Just sayin.

Not that low!

I think I broke my pinky toe just looking at that.

This is the kind of crap that gets almost insulting. Come on. Yes, put something underneath and it could be great, but who the hell truly prefers this. Styling at its stupidest. Is that a word? SHould be.

HAHAHA!! well, i have gone without a bed for months after breaking one, and it was hORRIBLE sleeping on the floor while i saved up the cash for the right one. i have gone without a couch for months (after cats destroyed one, and i refused to buy another until i found the "perfect" one at a reasonable price). but this little thingie on the floor is just asking for it!
