Whimsical whimsy whims

How do I know that if "DIY" is in the title and the word "whimsical"
is one of the first three words of an article, we're in trouble?

And what would a "whimsicle" taste like? Discuss.

Hideous. Really. Geez.

Oh, big Trouble. And to think, the lamp base is kinda cute. Or is that a no, no word as well? The shade department in Target would have been a far safer option.

I'd love to try a whimsicle in mango.

I think a whimsicle has to be a super sickeningly sweet flavor like bubble gum and cotton candy mixed together. blech.

I don't know if I can even look at this... those shades make my brain hurt.

And I think a whimsicle tastes like shit.

How soon 'til this shows up on Apartment Therapy? Ten, nine, eight, seven...

My verification is "tedurt." Why don't I ever get fun words like labia?

I just read the article. Three things:

1. I presumed all along that it was Apartment Therapy.

2. "As the design editor of the home section here at the Times." Say what?!?

3. When she referred to that green option as "peek-a-boo foliage," I swear my brain read it as fug-a-boo. Ouch.

We really do need a 2-week waiting period and a psych eval for any glue gun purchase.

You could dress that lamp up in Fortuny and it would still be lipstick on a pig.

That first shade reminds of the water thingy coat hook from earlier this week. I didn't really get either...

A whimsicle is dipped in hot glue, rolled in lace and served on a stick.

Some whimsical is so G-D ugly that it is cute. I have a few things in my collections like that. I guess I feel sorry for them. This lamp is not bad and with the right dull black lampshade could be a "conversation piece" You could hide things in the left side hole for your little kids to find. The lampshades should be shot or thrown on a street in Brooklyn where it will end up on Etsy.
