Won't you join me?

Roman and Williams.

I'm thinkin' all of the Dumplings should get together here this weekend, wherever here is.

For a light lunch [snort] served by this man:

(He will address each of us as "My One and Only.")

Lots of these will be on hand:

(Said photo constitutes a single serving.)

Bonus points and a deep tongue kissing if you show up in a caftan:

(Dudes, I have this pattern. I'm not even kidding.)

What movie shall we watch on our sweet-ass outdoor theater system?

(Preferably not "Scarface.")

I'm callin' it a got-ta-have-tan and I really like the idea of a party of drunk ladies and tom c. and we are all in caftans.well, not tom. - at that "here" place. I want the got-ta-have-tan pictured in the center but my hair done like lady on the left.

In our caftans + jack rogers, mai tais in hand, I think, perhaps, a Valley of the Dolls/Peyton Place double feature?

Girl dumplings only, or can I come? I could wear a cabana set. Hell, who am I kidding, I'm totally down with a caftan.

susieq said...

If we're wearing caftans, we must wear turbans too. And jingly anklets and big bangles.

{ I have a Simplicity men's leisure suit pattern c.1976. }

Holly Goes Lightly - Great film picks!

David - I know you'd rock the hell out of a caftan. Very Getty heir meets Tom Ford with a little YSL in Marrakech thrown in for good measure.

Susie - Of course you have a Simplicity men's leisure suit pattern c.1976. I would expect nothing less from you.

I had always planned to use that Simplicity pattern for some cool party invitation -- and Photoshop new heads on them. So if you'd like invites for the Colicchio lunch and lounge, I'm your girl. ;-)

I would love to join you. Can you work on getting Michael Phelps to deliver those drinks...? of course after just getting out of the pool and in his speedo :)

i can hear it! as i enter the soiree, "girl from ipanema" is playing.

Raina Cox said...

Anita - Private time in the cabana. ;)

Proud owner of an entire Simplicity Catalog from the early 70s here...so feel like I am amongst friends...will borrow one of my Mom's over the top House Coats, yup, that's right HOUSE COAT, dress it up with some whacky costume jewelry and breeze right in cocktails in hands...(kinda like Scarface though).

I am so there. In my aunt zelda's closet right now. I may borrow her zinc lipstick, too. That theater. Are you kidding me!?

La Dolfina said...

I'll be there as soon as I get back from the Salvation Army with my new caftan!

The Zhush and La Dolfina - Hello to you both and welcome to this deliciousness!

Oh my! I love Tom Colicchio. Love.

In response to your comment on my blog...small world that you were the owner of Red Ella & J.R. Newport in Indianapolis! I moved back to Indy last year after living in Texas for 5 years. I most often visited your J.R. Newport store. I had a haircut at Reeda Todd/visit your store routine. I loved your stores! I am catching up reading your blog right now. I found you via Paul's blog.

I have the perfect vintage psychedelic caftan at the ready. Strangely, I've never found a need for it previous to this occasion...
