Your thoughts please

A landmark San Francisco firehouse owned by art collector and vitner John Traina (the former Mr. Danielle Steele) recently sold for $3.36 million.

Well, the outside is pretty. The inside...ugh, a lot too Hannibal Lecter chic, even for me. But there are some interesting pieces I could cull from his collection of furnishings. I'd love to attend this estate sale.

There are some really intriguing pieces. Pull em out and leave the majority.

Horrible! Sorry, so NOT. The house itself is beautiful, the interior however... *shudder*

I personally like certain aspects of the inside, with some editing, save for the bedroom which I think Fred Flinstone wouldn't even sleep in, Even Barney Rubble for that matter and you KNOW he had no taste....;)

What is that mirrored screen doing in an African safari?

Send it my way, please.

It does need a lot of editing, especially the animals and a couple of other items I cannot even identify. Do love to see historic fire stations converted. My sister almost bought one, didn't pass the engineer inspection.

Why, exactly, does the bookshelf need a hat? And where do you get a magical rug that starts out Persian on a wall, drapes all the way over a bed, and turns into taxidermy on the floor? I would, however, rescue that mirrored fireplace from "The House Where Danielle Steel Faked Orgasms".

I am such a sucker for adaptive reuse, I would love to live in a converted firehouse/church/school. This is too much....too much money, too much dead stuff, too much furniture, too much steeple on the outside.

Is this the same firehouse that John Dickinson once owned and did so brilliantly? The stove makes me think perhaps yes. I'm running for my clip file.

That bedroom is just laugh making.

I love the building, if not all of the stuff in it.

There's a firehouse here I'd love to have, but you'd have to take it apart and move it far from the dicey, busy street where it currently stands.

Like the outside - but the inside I don't care for...I agree with all the other comments.

thinking looks more like a showroom than a home.a poorly laid out showroom at that but there are a few pieces that might be worthy in a different setting..but overall the look is one dimensional...just like his ex wife's books.

Found the Dickinson article, buried deep in my files. I had it tacked to my bulletin board for like five years because i thought it was so good. Too bad that Traina had to 'improve' it.

And all those dead things. Ugh.
