Nun chic? Hmmm...

Makes me think dungeon and church with the cross thing at the top all at the same time, but wait is that a mirror or just an opening?

Can't decide if there's one very precious mirror behind those bars or if it's one of those medieval torture cages.

Neither is a good look or option.

impractical AND makes me feel claustrophobic. Plus how is a girl supposed to properly put on her makeup?

I do like the sink.
The iron gate on the mirror sort of defeats the purpose, no?

It's the whole junk/chic/found/art/old/new/european schtick gone oh so very wrong!

That mirror is a complete turn off. But the sink sure does tickle my fancy!

I love the whole thing. Powder rooms are supposed to be a little whimsical and eccentric. LOVELY!

Hmmm... I'm all about the distressed wrought iron in the bathroom (or anywhere), but the cross I'm not so sure about... It is rather lovely altogether, though!

I like it, but it's one of those rooms that seem to be trying just a little too hard. The mirror is impractical though...it would be much better used in a room where no one will be trying to apply lipstick while peering through bars...though I guess it would be useful if you wanted to pretend to be Lady GaGa in the Telephone video.

absolutely not. i like my mirrors free range. that door is ominous.

I love it. I love an unusual bathroom and that one is.

Loved reading the comments here! My first thought was 'fabulous' becaue of the sink. But after reading the comments, I see what everyone means about the grid/gate in front of the mirror. How would you clean the mirror? Maybe it is on a hinge.

i bet you $100 that the person who owns this bathroom casts no reflection in that mirror.

Love the sink, love the faucets, love the bathroom door. I think the mirror is gorgeous -- but, in this spot, it’s trying a tad too hard.

My first thought....I would be confused if I am here to pee or pray!!!

Jordana said...

Nope...I definitely couldn't do this one. How would you ever clean the mirror? Unpractical and not so chic as far as I'm concerned.

it would take one iron maiden to aptly apply the lippy in that mirror!

Points for originality...I can wash my hands and pretend I am Queen Anne awaiting my beheading at London Tower...good times.

I almost like it. But really, that mirror is very Von Trap family hiding in the church yard. Is the ceiling actually vaulted above the sink?
Killer architectural features, overdone monastary chic styling.

I love the statement that mirror makes, it's probably in a lesser used powder room anyway, and obviously the rest of the house can probably "carry" this mirror...in my house, well people would have me committed!
I love crosses and religious icons in decor, but clearly not everyone agrees and it really puts some people off.

I think this space is well designed. The designer took the risk of not doing the usual expectations for the powder room. The mirror represents or gives the illusion of a window with the metal window grate.
