Now, what would possess someone to do that? seriously. this must be an inside joke, in which case, the photographer should have edited it out.

Daaang. The Sword of Damocles would be nothing compared to having that thing hanging over my head all day. All I can picture is the shape my head would be in once it fell on me. And I agree, the rest of the room is lovely, even the mildly wacky bench.

Women and children first! Avert your eyes! Men, you'll have to look at the abomination a while longer.

If only they had installed a ceiling fan with oars for blades - so close!

Ok I like the comment about the ceiling fan. Can't you just see it? Maybe somebody lost a bet.

... in Feng shui it's inauspicious to have your bed placed under a ceiling beam....but under a row boat?! I'm just sayin'.

Evidently they missed the memo that this is only done in whimisical restaurants, not homes. Weirdos!

This reminds me of those old commercials for crazy glue...the guy with the hard hat crazy glued to the construction beam.

Oy. Just when I thought I had run out of surfaces to decorate. To think, all I had to do is look up.

Okay, just when I thought I'd seen everything...

Look at the bright side, you can see a picture whichever way you hold it :)

Back again----I was showing this to a friend, when suddenly, it occurred to me: Those friggin' old wooden rowboats are HEAVY.

But I'm sure they've got it well bolted to the ceiling....one can see its own weight causing it to de-plank and fall not so gently to the ground.....
