I'd like the bed cover a lot better on the floor. Otherwise, I'd have to shoot myself.

I like it all except the dresser and the tiny mirror over it...which is lined up with the small print over the bed, but not the one with the chair...so it just ends up looking too small.

And, the dresser just seems too squeezed and the pattern on it distracts from the bed. Oh, and the really tiny bedside table crammed in is crazy!

I would have like to seen anothor swing arm lamp , a round table beside the bed and the dresser and chair to switch locations! In my view that would have made everything look good...even the dresser!

yuck.
(the only things that are not yuck-y are the two black and white pillows on the bed.)

So funny to see this room out of context. The rest of the house is so great. I'm actually a big fan. I really like Sheila Bridges and I think this room is interesting and unique and actually somewhat an unusual colorway for her usually more simple and serene interiors. I love the textiles on the bed and the carpet. I say it's a thumbs up for me.

NKP - I can't put anything over on you, Nelya. ;)

When I saw the photo, I thought 'I know this room.' I actually like it. It's too much and weird -- but I like it. And that kilim on the bed is divine!

For a fun bohemian in their twenties? perfect.
for a mom in their (almost) forties? xanax please.

I think with a few tweaks it could be absolute design magic. Sheila just had a bit of an epileptic seizure and couldn't make up her mind.

I have to agree with NKP... If we were to see the entire editorial it would all make more sense. I love this interior.

like NKP, I have issues with the chest (which I love), but there's something Okay about this room,

All of the objects are interesting, the room just needed to take off a few pieces of jewelry before making its big debut.

I actually like it...as a one off, for a man's apartment, even a teenage boy, or hotel room. Not sure how it would work into the context of the rest of the decor of a house I would like.

I'm not crazy about the stripes...too thin, too many.

The picture makes it seem a bit cramped. Is the wall to the left of the bed on an angle? I wonder why everything is smooshed into this one little spot.

What's up with those shoes?

Jeanne - The designer, Sheila Bridges, provides Moroccan slippers for her guests in a variety of sizes. There are scattered about her home:

This photo is from her home office/guest room.

Kind of in love! My favorite colors, and the stripes are working for me. It does say 'male' to me more than female.

I wondered, is it a guest bedroom, or what? That might make a diffrence, I would like to see the rest of the house. It has such interesting elements, too much going on for me though!

nkp, i think you bring up an interesting point to consider!

do rooms need to stand by themselves, or do they work within the home as a full story?

the post you posted of a rowboat hanging upside down? i hated it at first, but then i read the whole story in elle decor and loved their story, and their ideas. i totally changed my mind!

thoughts raina?

Pat, Kerry, Elizabeth, Lil Me, and Punctuation Mark - Hello to each of you and welcome to this deliciousness!

David John - I agree, the rest of the rowboat house was lovely. But no way in 100 billion years will you convince me that it's OK to bolt a rowboat upside down to your ceiling.

It hurts my eyes!

The stripes make it too busy for a bedroom, it isn't calming or restful. I would love the room painted a solid colo, or the stripes in a different room.

Is the trim a teal color? Where did that come from?

If I win your design services, you won't let me hang a row boat from my ceiling? Where is the fun in that?

nightmare stripes monster dresser rug bed. i'm sure the rest of the house is SWELL, as would this room be, if dissected and scattered into fragments elsewhere.

Wow, circus tent wallpaper AND shoes for Snap, Crackle, and Pop... doesn't get much better than that.

From different angles, this room doesn't look quite so epileptic but still way too busy for my tastes.

However, I love the rest of her apartment.
