Acid greens in country houses

House Beautiful.

Is this a coincidence or a trend?
And can someone please make it stop?

Sol - So I'll put you down as against "Bile Green." ;)

very bad
in fact the whole of that top picture is bad. the wall colour - bad. the border at the top just to really draw your eye to the jarring juxtaposition of wall colour to ceiling - bad. the pathetic crappy bit of useless cornicing (I think you call it moulding) BETWEEN the border and the ceiline - bad. The overly heavy curtains with frilly valances sitting uncomfortably over the border and cornice - bad

bad bad bad

at least the room below is an honest attic room even if the colour is not the most sympathetic. don't like the bookcase squished in where it is but overall it is 50x better than the room above IMO

I painted a bedroom in one of our last fix em up and flip em apartments back in the nineties in nyc this color...and my husband still gives me grief about it to this day...and HE IS RIGHT! Ya, know even a broken clock...blah blah blah...

Perhaps the people who live in these places are being punished for some horrible transgression on their part? I blame the privatization of our corrections system. It's the only logical answer.

My retinas are burnt just looking at these!

And a border, seriously people still do these? And, the top wall color resembles a color that I wiped off an infant's ass.

Teri - It "borders" on insanity! Thanks, folks, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

That is just plain wrong.

I second Sol. And unfortunately, the first color is how our bathroom came out. You can imagine how flattering that is to my complexion when I look in the mirror.

oh dear, sherri...I always wonder what is wrong with the people that decorate the bathroom in greens and/or yellows...Just having a bad paint-picking day? ;-)
I love green decor..but it is hard on the eyes when it's turned up to 11.

Ahhhhh! This reminds me of the nightmare of when we moved into our house and the bedroom was painted a very similar color. I couldn't paint fast enough...horrible.
