I feel a gin and tonic coming on....
Great inspirations, all!
I especially like the drinks tray
with the horse print and mirror behind it--upside down wallpaper, and all. TGIF! xx Suzanne

It's so pretty over here. But now I am thirsty.

These stylists or home owners obviously do not have children. Anyone with sense would not leave liquor lying around. This is a very dated look, and is the stylistic equivalent of "Ghetto." This look is probably perpetuated by those who must karate chop the throw pillows.

I thought that was Wisteria but it looked off - great eye Melissa figuring it out! What are the chances that was intentional and if so, why? Not into exposed bars but that's just me. Just another thing to style & dust...

Have a great weekend!

I actually like liquor and a bar cart... of course I do... I like all of these dumb trends... BUT I dont want to fucking see another one in a fucking Lonny.

What normal person doesnt have a fully stocked bar full of liquor? (haha, Im a drunky) and who doesnt set it up on a pretty tray when they are having people over?

Everyone does. Thats why we dont need to see it in every issue.

Im also kind of sick of the close up vignettes of clutter. I think its over for that shit too.

I like the bars exposed/on tables. I won't ever get sick of that look, but then again I'm a fan of old 30's/40's movies where that is the norm. I grew up with liquor lying around and never snuck a sip once. It wasn't a big deal because it wasn't hidden and forbidden.
but all of these are from the same issue? hmph... that is a little much.

Oh no.

Well, at least the paper is only TAPED to the wall...

MyLittleHappyPlace - Hello to you and welcome to this deliciousness!

I left a comment on that not-so-delicious jumpsuit thing.

My two goals in life are to keep my daughter off the pole and out of any American Apparel advertising.

Sketch42 - Gurl, I love you more than my luggage.

I love the look of beautiful liquor bottles and other beverage accoutrements clustered on a tray on a console table, sideboard or shelf. It makes a room look lived-in and welcoming.

I love having my hooch out on the buffet, with glasses and shaker ready to go. I've had it set up like that, in two different houses, for 14+ years. Now I feel like I need to put it away for fear someone thinks I jumped on the design-porn trend bandwagon. Damn you Lonny!

Love these bar inspirations!

Looks like someone hit the booze before they proceeded to hang the paper. Really, these are from one issue? One!

I love the exposed bar thing cause makes me feel like someone understands me. All in one issue? well... but it does make me remember what to pick up at bevmo...
I'll be living this trend long after it's gone. And I have kids. Sorry Lady from Conneticut.

A bar made it to my list of father's day gifts this year. It benefits both the receiver and the giver. Win win as far as I'm concerned. Happy a fun weekend. And ok, here is a bit of my ocd world... how could they possibly live day in and day out looking at taht upside down wallpaper?! Even if done on purpose...

SogniSorrisi - Hello and welcome to this deliciousness!

The Shiny Pebble - I would lay money that no one ever noticed the paper was upside down. I didn't until a commenter pointed it out.

It's funny, it's so obvious to me. I guess it is because I have wisteria all over the front of my house, and the long, trailing racemes are so beautiful. Whereas that wallpaper looks like foxgloves standing bolt upright. Or delphiniums. Or something NOT wisteria-like!

Re the bar thing I'm firmly on the fence. Love the idea of booze tray waiting there all sociable like - but then I think of the reality which is four kids (a) playing cricket in the house and (b) getting to the age where alcohol might be interesting. Oh, and the dust. But I have for some time now coveted a beautiful drinks cabinet - you know a 30s or 50s one where you open the doors to show the lit and mirrored interior? It would have to be a really beautiful one though. Which means it would cost a fortune. Which means I'm likely never to have one. Boo!

I keep hearing people say "bars are in!" When, pray, tell, did they ever go out!!

The Zhush said...

The upside wallpaper, the screwed up striped couch cushion...all these things escape me...and yet, once pointed out, they make me twitch!
Good thing there's liquor involved...which, come to think of it...may explain a lot!

Dovecotedecor - I thought the same thing.

Also, hello and welcome to this deliciousness!
