My husband's lover is named Rita

We still don't have seating for our back patio, but we do now own a margarita machine. Sunday, I made the mistake of showing LB a demo video of the Premium Margaritaville Trio Frozen Concoction Maker, below.

Fired up about outdoor living after our neighborhood swimming pool opened yesterday, LB insisted we visit Williams-Sonoma to take a look at these turbo-powered blenders. We had been staring at the single pitcher model for about 30 seconds when some random guy walked up and said,"My friend just bought one of these and LOVES it." (I think he was in the employ of Williams-Sonoma.) That was all LB needed to hear.

We briefly checked out the triple pitcher model which totally brought out the red-blooded American consumer in me (seriously, check out the online demo video). LB pointed out that we don't have enough friends to even drink three pitchers of cocktails at one sitting, so we settled on the smaller machine.

The machine also makes awesomesauce snowcones, so we picked up a three-pack of slushee syrup, cone-shaped paper cups, and those great scoop-y straws. I don't know who is more excited - The Pea or LB.

So, Dumplings, did any of you make any off-the-wall emotional purchases over the long weekend?

Not a one, but that doesn't mean I didn't want to, and let LB have something.

Make some regular margaritas, then mix up a little sangria and Chambord liqueur. Pour over the frozen marg and stir to swirl together. Like candy in a glass.

my hubs is a margarita rocks guy - so no machine - although the snow-cone capabilities are tempting...Awesome way to kick it into summer...

2 marble topped bedside tables that need some serious tlc.
1 really cute chair that needs to have the back re-caned.
1 eagle lamp.
1 antique porcelain lamp of a horse & carriage and man and woman (think grown up Cinderella).
1 tiny pedestal table in need of tlc.
1 wicker headboard I am going to turn into a slipcovered headboard.
1 super cute horse figure with crazy hair.
1 bamboo plate / picture holder.

I did good, didn't I? This was just the blog post I needed to justify all these crazy purchases.

iphones and the ebay app are especially dangerous when one is kinda drunk at a bar, have a couple of free minutes to noodle on the phone (im sure i was momentarily abandoned while the drink fairy was away) and then drunkenly forget that she purchased a bag...

I don't know- LB drinks one pitcher, you drink one, and I drink the other. See, you only need one friend!

And, to entertain the kids- snow cones. The perfect Saturday!

Mmmmm... Yes, party at Raina's! I LOVE it. I'm boring -- my only holiday weekend purchase was lamp shades.

I actually have that machine too. Someone got it for us as a gift... After 2 summers the novelty kinda wore off... But you will enjoy it!

I'd endure the brain freeze I get from blended icee drinks just to enjoy a patio sit with thee!

I bought padded bicycle shorts for a century ride and then road tested them for 50 miles. Chamois cream and bike gloves were also in my bag. Not nearly as exciting as the Billykirk bag Ita got & your new pal, Rita Blendar.

Maybe her name should be Rita Blendaré.

OMG by the time this baby pops out I will be wanting to kill all three pitchers myself in one setting.

I am beyond jealous of your pool and your ability to drink alcohol all summer long.

As for purchases, no, i didn't do anything naughty this weekend, but I'm about to hit buy on a certain pricey light I've been telling you about.

We picked up some popsicle molds and I made ginger basil margarita popsicles to enjoy by the pool - it was heavenly!

I bought a bunch of shelving at Ikea and The Container Store. Something tells me, I'd have more fun with your purchase...

I bought a pool on ebay yesterday! Maybe I need to get a margarita maker to go with. Let's hope we get a great summer in the UK this year otherwise I will be forcing my kids into the pool when it's cold and rainy!!

No crazy purchases for me, but after seeing this, I just may have to do something about that...

JuliaB - Hello and welcome to this deliciousness!

Nothing this weekend, but I am inches away from buying that Dyson fan and a much-needed new laptop. The folks at Visa are gonna love me this week.
