I need a Moroccan getaway

I'm back in the blogging saddle and rarin' to ride! I could use a month-long Moroccan getaway, but until then this tour of a Marrakech home will have to do. Later in the week, I will be sharing some of the goodies I rediscovered during my parents' move.

Your emails of sympathy, empathy, and encouragement were so appreciated. Dumplings, you are the absolute best!

hurrah! you have escaped from your avalanche of tube socks!
I SO empathise. My mother has decided to leave her flat of 23 years in the same WEEK that I move house (which has been planned for 4 months). It has been hell trying to sort out this place whilst simultaneously having boxes of crap from her place arrive for me with cryptic notes on top saying things like "I thought you could find a home for these". Uh, NO!

I don't know if you are up for a quick question - marble topped tulip table with calligaris wien chairs yay or nay? (I know you blogged about loving the chairs a while ago and I need to make a hasty yet expensive decision and am all decision-ed out). Anyone? Chairs in the white version with transparent backs...

Anyway welcome back!

I'm always up for a Moroccan getaway. May I join you? First things first, we must visit the souk for some of those fabulous hammered trays! Yes?

Welcome back...been waiting with bated breath!

well no one deserves it more! but I thought you were turning the back porch into just the thing?

Jessica - The day I was going to order the patio furniture, one of the walls in the master shower caved in.

The bad news? The Moroccan patio escape was put off. The good news? I'm getting my master bath remodel about 18 months ahead of schedule.

Melissa - I like the table and chairs separately, but together I'm not so sure...

Welcome back! So happy to hear that you survived the hordes of sock filled trash bags. I sense that the owner of this Moroccan getaway would never wear tube socks, so it's probably safe there.

you are, of course, right. sigh. thank you for confirming what I suspected! have table arriving next week - no reason to rush the chairs though I suppose...

I have never been to morocco. I feel a trip coming on. I'd like a MASSIVE bad-ass beaten metal lantern for my hall... lovely!

Hooray!!!!! I'm so so so glad you're back, you have NO IDEA how much I missed stopping by daily. yay yay yay! You're not allowed to take another month long vacation, not even to this cute house, unless, of course, you take me with you

I ADORE the kitchen. I could be very happy cooking all kinds of things there. I don't think you have to have every goddamn appliance to come up with great food. God, I love that kitchen!

Welcome back!
I bet you'd be needing a nice long holiday by now. How did it all go? Can't wait to see the goodies you found at your parents'!

This place looks amazing in all its rustic glory. A clay moulded haven with so much personality and charm! The ceiling is insane, as are the doors and the deep windows. And that wall painting, AND the bath!!
Wouldn't mind having the silver trays from the kitchen living with me either! Yum for all of this!
