I just don't feel it in a box, I just don't feel it with a fox, I just don't feel it here or there, I just don't feel stool groupings anywhere!

This is what my 3.5 year old son does with his bits and pieces including his stools. Puts them in little assorted standing groups. Great for playdate, not so good for sophisticated apartment.

Its like someone put together a little arrangement in the TJ Maxx home department.

I have always loved the eames walnut stools that ray designed and scattered around her house. you know- the ones that look like little pawns in her own personal modern chess game? but i don't think she would have done. this. i think we should dub this look "the flustercuck".

Heh heh, you said "stool groupings."

As much as I do love me a garden stool...this just looks all wrong. I blame the stylist...it feels staged, and cockeyed.

Hwa!

This room is wrong in so many ways though.
The stool grouping is just the icing on the cake.
Full disclosure: I still really dig drum stools and can count, well, lets just say lots around our home.
But this, this is like a terribly dysfunctional yours/mine/ours family.

Seriously? Maybe for Alice...I think it feels perfect for Wonderland!

Reminds me of college days or just out of college, when you just don't have enough furniture to fill the space so you try to compensate. The photographs feel the same way. I think they would look so much better in a tighter grouping.

The Zhush and Alcira - Don't get me wrong, I adore little stools and side tables. I'm just a little flummoxed to see nearly the exact same grouping in three different homes in a week.

Some people can pull things off, some can't. This is turning into a mostly can't.

They remind me of stepping stones in a stream that has gone dry.

susieq said...

No, no, no, no, no. One no for each stool.

Or did I mean to say just resembles flotsam found in the stream?

I get so confoosed.

I like them individually but they look far too messy in a group. Also they would really annoy me when I got the vacuum cleaner out, to the point where I would vacuum around them so they would look like they were sitting on a mound of dust. Nice.

It's like all of those pairs of side tables used as coffee tables circa 2007 have sprouted offshoots.

Groupings for design groupies. I second what ita darling said.

If clutter is now a style, my home is the height of fashion.

Toadstools popping up everywhere.

"flustercuck" - tee hee. This setup would never work for me, I need my coffee table to at least look sturdy enough to hold my coffee cup.
