As a houseguest, I love it. As my master, I'd certainly hate that print the morning after some quality time with red wine..

Also, the word verification for this comment is "winjo". Google needs to work on their spelling but otherwise, they've pretty much got me pegged.

I love the print, don't like the cramped space between the loo and the bidet and dont like the white wall... why didnt the paper go round there too?
Dont like the sink stand either looks worryingly collapsible.... possibly because thats where I'd have enough room to wash my bum.

I quite like the sink stand, love the monograms (because I am a selfish Leo), can't understand why the one wall is bare, but am pretty damn grateful for it.

I think you have to avoid pattern like that when it's going to be picked up in a mirror. Way to create motion sickness. And that's just on ginger ale tonight, lucky I haven't had any red wine!

My word for verification is Digfr - which is pretty apt - I came via MFAMB over the weekend and spent all weekend laughing at White People Problems!

Man, I gotta get me some of them!

Gave me an immediate headache when I enlarged the picture so how bad it will be in real life, don't even go there.
Too bold for too small a room. The verdict is in :-)
And my word verification is "Parks" so they can park that in their pipe and smoke it Hahahaha

I have been seeing these prints way too much lately and am afraid they are going to become overrated and outstyled way too quickly. I must say I do love them though but on small things like pillows... Not sure I would use them on a wall! I do like the sink though!

I'm just not feeling it either. That white wall is bugging me too. Not sure if it needs more of the paper or maybe a creamy color like the color of light brown sugar (or accessible beige by Sherwin Williams). The towels are blending into the wall. Also, I agree with the first comment, I can deal with it if as a powder room, but not the master. M.

I think the pattern is oversized for the space - not that I think there's a rule about pattern size versus room size, I just think there's too many angles in this room or something.

It does kinda look like they ran out of funds, with that one bare wall...

Adore the basin, though.

I like it today, but ask me tomorrow, I think it will date fairly quickly.

What's up with the little circle mirrors above the large mirror? They eerily remind me of mickey mouse....

haaaaaaaaaaate the sink.

What are the two smaller circular things above the big mirror? Mirrors? If so, who could use them? Those seems sort of dumbass. Otherwise I don't hate it. That's the best I can say about it, though. I agree it would be hard to cope in this room after a date night with red wine, though.

Carly - Hello and welcome to this deliciousness!

Anita and LISC - They look like magnifying mirrors suspended from the ceiling, but they're way too high unless the owners play pro basketball.

I'm not much into this trellis pattern, but I think if it was more subtle/ tone-on-tone I'd like it a whole lot more. Also, why not do the towel bar wall? If you are going to do it, you have to do it all the way.

I actually love this pattern, its dedar and it cost like 200 a roll! I saw it in a tone on tone like Naomi said- and it was freakin GORGEOUS. Then again it was also on flat walls in a hallway.

Its by sara story for kips bay... Last picture in this post:

I kinda hate this bathroom.

Julia said...

no. reminds me of a neighbor's bathroom in the 80s, except that the fixtures were all black (gah...) also I have a thing against monograms, too precious for my taste. finally, why are the towels white? a little strong color would be such a relief.

I've actually liked this bathroom for awhile now -- had it put away in my mental files as possible fodder for the Egypt powder room.
I think it's clean and fun, though I don't really understand why the woman neglected to paper that one wall, but I do like the modern take on a campaign sink.
Are these damask-slash-trellis papers on the way out? Maybe, but I still think this is a cute space.

PS, those discs hanging from the ceiling are lights.

loose the wallpaper and the stupid towels and I like it, although something about the scale makes me think I'd feel like a midget in here

Alcira - Thanks for clearing up the mystery!

I think that print makes my eyes bleed.

The black baseboards are interesting, though.

What @Julie said about hating monograms. I actually like the blank white wall.

christine {bijouandboheme} said...

I actually don't mind it at all- I think that one white wall is weird and would have liked to see the paper on every wall. I also think a more ornate/interesting mirror would have been better than the circular one- something with colour to break up the black/white. But I quite like the wallpaper because it's not the exact same trellis I see everywhere else- has more of a regency feel to it.

The lavatory is ok...and that's about it.

My friends will tell you that I'm already dizzy but this pattern is certainly making matters worse. No thanks.

LOVE it - I think bathrooms (especially powder rooms) are the perfect place to be bold. And I agree with Alcira - don't know why they skipped that one wall. Playing it too safe in a room like this makes for a boring place to visit - you're only there for such a short time :-)

Acanthus and Acorn said...

It literally gives me a headache. I don't know if it's the pattern or the stop-start of the pattern!? It seems to be if you made this bold choice, you could commit all the way.

Brandi said...

I like. I wouldn't have it in my master bath but definitely a hall bath. I think the bold pattern is nice and I'm always a fan of black and white.

Raina Cox said...

Julia and quintessence - Hello to both of you and welcome to this deliciousness!

a bit late for this, but I am crazy about this bathroom. Though I doubt it's a real one because there's no way on earth someone would install a bidet so close to a loo.
In any case, I hate the monogrammed towels. It's your house, it's not a hotel.

Love the monochrome and I admire bold use of pattern but that motif is a little too large for that small space. It looks overwhelming. Designers Guild have a pattern that is similar but smaller, I think it is in the Nabucco collection. That might have worked better.
