I love surprises

An advanced order I'd forgotten about shipped from Amazon this morning - Lili Diallo's first book "Details: A Stylist's Secrets to Creating Inspired Environments." If the name isn't familiar to you, Diallo was the one stylist most responsible for the haute boho look of Domino (RIP). She has also worked with Town & Country and Real Simple magazines.

The premise of Diallo's decorating tome is that to create a fab home start small and build. She shares secrets of how to edit a room to eliminate clutter and coax charm. I'm most looking forward to having all of her incredible work in one place. Here's a little taste of her particular deliciousness...

What a fab surprise this must've been -- I love la Diallo. And God that dark kitchen with cowhide -- total buyah, so good it hurts.

I remember the halcyon days when I was first decorating our house -- peeking out the front door every few hours hoping for my daily dose of cardboard box action.

Now that I no longer send myself stuff, I miss the not-so-cheap thrills.

What I like the best about this gal's stuff is that it is so diverse. She is all over the board...but is so strong in any direction. Thanks for the heads up.

Putting on my Christmas list! I saw hot pink tufted gilded furniture yesterday, browsing some favorite antique junk stores, similar to the first image!

Oooh, good stuff. Going on my list for sure. And I was ridiculously excited to spot what appears to be my lamp in the dining room pic with the doggie.

I'm sorry, I can't take anyone seriously who uses that goofy crystal pirate ship chandelier. The epitome of high-end tackiness.

I'll give topaz that ship chandelier, but I forgive it because those galvanized chairs totally make up for it!

This looks good...I really need her advice. I'm feeling a little overcluttered and in a definitely not charming rut over here.
