Its Pepto pink. Hugely dislike.

It's not that I don't like pink, but color of the year? Really?

Certainly flagrantly unoriginal -- but what's not to love about color in any form, right?

no dammit I was just getting into a pink thing and now it is surely ruined. My desk it not dissimilar to this color but bolder and more awesome, IMO ;)

Dear Raina, All I can say is....Barbara Cartland, your time has come!!!!!!!

hunh, usually I think these are obvious choices, but I didn't see this particular shade coming. It is totally Pepto, but I kinda like it, it's a happy colour - I bet the Pea would approve

Uh, yeah, NO.

Colour of the year ??
Why?
And do we need a colour of the year?

I am using a similar color for a client (single girl). Liking it in her little house, but not worthy of color of the year.

I do like that flower

Can we have last year's turquoise back?

I'm going to spend all of 2011 pretending that they chose a light grey instead of that color.

Only if Honeysuckle is the same pink as Ann Mashburns sofa's (in Atlanta House and home)?? Only in doses though..I like Papaya Pink/Coral Pink better. http://www.atlantahomesmag.com/article/ann-mashburn

I actually think pink IS a good choice but this particular shade is wrong - feels like it should be deeper and richer to me. But Pantone picks colors for retail and mainstream consumers not for the fabulously talented design junkies like the readers of this here blog. ; )

Oh hell no.

Where I live that colour looks like a musk stick - sickly sweet.

Agree it is very Ann Mashburn also reminds me of Anna Spiro of Spiro + Black/Absolutely Beautiful Things (though it seems she has moved on already).

Best done in small doses.

for what?? walls? it's not even a pretty pink for a wall?
fabric? maybe. it just seems so random.

It's a pretty color but I feel sorry for any husband who has to live with it because his wife loves it! And last time I checked, wasn't honeysuckle golden and ivory hued?

MyLittleHappyPlace said...

I don't know...something about it doesn't sit well, and I love pink. Wish it were more of a blush, but I don't think Pantone is in the business of subtle.

Jono said...

No.

Turquoise was calming and subtle. Pink is too in-your-face yuck and too gender specific.

Next I expect lime green candy couches and neon lighting.

No.

Ummm...

For some reason, I see some kind of blue, midnight, creamy, mysterious, moody blue for 2011.

This pink? I wouldn't even buy a $3 shirt in this color.

I see it with the gorgeous grays and in accents such as pillows small chirs etc!

Does it get a sash and tiara? And who was Miss Congeniality -- taupe?

long on style, TheBambinaBlog, m e g a n a l i n a, Jono - Hello to each of you and welcome to this deliciousness!

You've made me very afraid, Raina. The last two years Pantone has been right, or at least a huge influence on interior colour. In 2009 Mimoza really did start showing up a lot, in 2010 Turquoise was even more dominant. Prepare for pink . . .

In Faulkner novels, honeysuckle always signifies sex. Maybe 2011 will be a very sexy year. I mean, fingers crossed, right?

I saw my mother-in-law yesterday. She held up the Wall Street Journal and pointed to an entire article about Pantone’s Honeysuckle Pink. Then she squeeled and pointed to her Honeysuckle Pink coat. “It’s been color of MY year for ages, honey.”

Not happening. Neither did last years turquoise.
