Your thoughts please

Mmm, interesting one, this. It's certainly novel, art-like and appropriately baubly but something about it doesn't gel with me. On closer inspection, I think it's the green. I don't mind green but for me this is too much. Jane @ the girl in the brick house.

yeah, what's your favourite word? whimsical?

"A" for effort. But those look like giant peas. Maybe this is the Jolly Green Giant's home at Christmas.

No. Way.

Initially yes- but on longer looking , bit oppressive.. shame- nice idea..

The wall color is quite beautiful, and except for the bust and the balls, I kind of like the rustic/natural and mirrored thing.

for Christmas? perhaps. Permanently? of course not.

Horrible...left overs from the ghosts of Christmas past and the green balls? YIKES! This is not going to help my sense of woe this time of year. Please tell me you didn't spend the weekend installing this!!! LOL!

As is always my first thought for "Your thoughts please." - if you ever stop doing the "your thoughts please" I will be incredibly sad!
Then my second thought is - major craft project (and not in a good way).

No. Is that supposed to be a Christmas decoration? No. However, I love the mirrored console and little stand of presents. Just think Miss Crafty didn't know when to stop. No.

{ By the way, my word vertification is "subtl". Opposite of that photo. }

A perfect example of not knowing where to stop!

While I rather like it, I think if it weren't green on green I would like it better. Haven't seen that before, and that's saying something.

Digging the console action and vignette -- not so sure about the Christmas ball installation though. It just looks precarious, untenable and like it may just damage that wall.
Happy Monday, Alcira

The color reminds me of the Emerald City in the Wizard of Oz, which was a deco masterpiece, but there's too much crap on that table and the craft project I did last night looks better (and I'm not a person who "does craft projects" very often).

I'm wrinkling my nose up at this one. But, holiday decorating is not my thing, so whatever. The wall color though, I have to say, is intriguing.

Really like the wall over!

Someone was trying WAY to hard.

I kinda like the wall ( I love peas,) but they just didn't know when to stop. Especially the bell wreath on the bust.

I like the cake stand with the gifts, but the console needs to be seriously edited.

Have you seen my giant green necklace? I can't find it anywhere...oh there it is!

I liked the green wall and green swirl, but then it became tacky and crazy with all that crap and riots of color on the console!

I like the idea, but that much green just reads as reptilian to me.

I like the wall colour and I'd like to take a closer look at the red bag in the corner. Leave the rest though.

Sort of interesting...looks like it may have been a lot of work too. I don't like the jingle bells around the guys neck at all...however!

Total tut and utterly vile. Hated it last year and happy to say the early onset bah humbug of the season has not changed my mind.

Sketch42 said...

No. That green pearl necklace is terrible.

Wall colour is ok...baubles on the wall are NOT. Love the spiral shape... take away the candle holders/the wreath around the neck of the bust and change the type of vase and add some tall red or white or fuschia pink flowers and this may have worked. Not enough contrast and tabletop too cluttered.
