Bad interior design makes me stabby

The master bedroom in an Alaskan house named "The Claw of the Dragon."
I wish I was making any one part of this up.

bad interior design, or bad photography? Or bad architecture? I can't tell what is going on here.

Ditto Naomi... but I think the room is actually designed like one of those cheesy amusement park houses that are tilted and confuse your sense of direction.

All it needs now is a bowl of oranges on the floor. Which way will they roll?! Suspense!

I get motion sickness very easily. I threw up and fainted on a plane once b/c of it - this room is bringing back some very bad memories for me. I hope they never have to sell it - it would be an impossible endeavor.

I start to ask why one would name their house that, then I think why that chair, that screen...

Interior design Musings - It IS for sale! Hence the feature in WSJ.

Can you imagine being stuck in that house in the remote Alaskan wilderness? Talk about the setting for a remake of Psycho. Instead of a run-down motel, Norman Bates now has a contemporary B&B.

Architects, interior designers, and home builders: even if privacy is not so much an issue, almost everyone would like to be able to control the natural light in a bedroom! That is the reason, I am sure, for the odd bed location here and the pitiful screen.

My original thought was that was where the au pair was kept in the attic and then I read it was the master bedroom.

I feel safe in saying that no sex ever takes place in that room.

In addition to its awfulness, this appears to be another case of form over function: none of the windows open!

I'm seeing this as Rachel Ashwell's attempt at "contemporary hospital chic."

also, WHY is there a weird "screen" between the bed and that chair? does somebody ugly sit there and can't be seen by the person in the bed??

Wait. So a really, really giant dragon sunk his claw into part of the house and it, like, started falling down? And this is the after shot?

Okay.

Got it.

Something tells me I wouldn't be terribly keen on the before, so it's just as well they didn't show it.

Some people have too much money.

The screen- goodness are you so repulsive naked that the person sitting in the chair can't see you?

The house needs an elevator? Because we are lazy.

3 sinks? Why would a family of 3 need 3 sinks? Symmetry?
