Question

Newberry Round coffee table, $599.

Are there blogs where people get as excited about Pottery Barn's new releases as we do about CB2's and West Elm's? Because - Good Lord - the only way I'd run towards this piece is if the rest of the mall was on fire.

Pottery Barn makes me kind of sad.

I would pay $5.99 for that table, then I'd spraypaint the fuck out of it.

That table looks like an amputee.
In my earlier decor days, I'll admit to the odd convulsion over PB's wares. But lately I find their catalogs all look the same and the stuff is pretty pricey. I do generally like their drapes, some of their lighting and their bathroom hardware.

It would work if the top was painted white or blue and it was in a beach house or Moroccan inspired pool cabana.

i agree with anon. i wouldn't personally choose this table for..well...anything..as in i could find 100 better versions. but perhaps if it were painted a different color and not 600 dollars and in the right setting...
besides i am sure i could find something on craigslist for cheaper.

or i could build a table out of turds.

It seems to me that Pottery Barn is now knocking off the J.C. Penney Linden Street Collection, and not the other way around. That I know this makes me a little scared.

OMG, 1990 is back!

Were you to run toward this table, you would no doubt stub your toe in a big way.

Laughing at sweetbittertart...

but really Pottery Barn does make me feel more sad than happy. Maybe because I think of all the people who are shelling out $599 for this crap, and I just feel really badly for them.

Ha! I laughed because I saw the top of the image first, scrolled down and then the legs just stopped! I thought it would be an entry or a dining table!

The buyers or "designers" over at Pottery Barn need to put down the can of Dust It they keep huffing and quit with this awfulness. I am hating PB more and more. Their stuff is uninspired and Boring!

Please, we don't call them midgets any more. They're "height-deprived."

Or is it "differently-heighted"?

It looks like a dining room table for midgets. Errr...little people. I can just imagine them sitting there on little wood chairs eating dinner.

sorry I forgot what I was gonna say after I read Jenny's comment.

Ooo, stumpy...

Couldn't you make that by hacking two feet off the legs of a Craigslist table?

Coincidentally, we were wandering the mall tonight and stopped to look in PB. We were surprised by how much of the wood furniture seemed fakey. I don't know what they make it out of if not wood, but I should not be able to lift one end of a media center with one hand.

Pottery Barn better get the lead out and sign up some new inspired designers. I was in the NYC shop last month and it looked like a church thrift shop....in primary colors.

So old and staid. Please don't eve3r let me see this in someone's house. I could not hold my tongue!

Oh, so sad but ... dear ... there are so many out there that think PB is the S***. Sorry, but it is the truth. Let's all take a moment of silence and pray for these poor souls. :)
