Is that a tiny preppy man sitting on a really big couch?

Never heard of Vincent Darré before but his place is creeping me out, like a bad dream afetr eating too much cheese.

i love royal blue and gold together. it was my bet to 2010. i think it's a fantastic, elegant and timeless combination.
love the oversized canapé.

Gulliver is cute.

I like that he seems to be having a laugh at himself and that blue is divine.

It's been said, but yummy blue sofa, strangely Lilliputian wee man.

Raina Cox said...

MMM-C and nkp - It's a bit of an illusion. Compare the blue settee to the chaise at the right and you'll see it. ;)

The problem is the room, not its contents. The scale is all off. Too small a room for too grand of stuff.

But it is nice stuff. :P

I cant really tell whats going on. What are those things sticking out of the wall? What is that thing leaning in the corner? A stuffed python? Cant really see anything...

But I dont mind the colors. And yes, dude looks tiny.

Don't have much to say about the room except yes yes yes to the YK Blue!

Reads a tad too Alice in Wonderland for me, but the settee IS killa.

Thom Thumb is not a myth afterall?

No to the carpet. No to the python things - what ARE they - and those white things cluttering up the window - and love the blue, but, excuse me, I like a BIG COMFY COUCH, and that settee looks hard as a rock.

There's too many quirky pieces in here. I can stand one or maybe even two pieces but it seems like everything in here had a funky vibe and not in a good way.

don't know what to add to what others have already said. The scale is all off (even if that was intentional) and there's too much going on. As in, this is giving me a headache. But I'm loving the combination of that blue with orange with white/gray.

Is that an alligator bench??

I'm trying not to look too closely. If I squint and ignore all the little stuff, this almost works. Almost.

Love the blue with the orange and after all he is very cute!

my favorite and my best said...

other than the fact that he looks ridiculous i like it...although the couch size is strange for no other reason than to be strange. it doesn't even look comfortable.

The rooms is interesting, but get rid of that rug. Just because it's the same color blue doesn't make it work.

Pretty colors. Pretty little man.

I've seen this pad in some other incarnation somewhere. Because he's French -- and eccentric -- he's off the hook from me this once.
But perhaps he should try some human growth hormone before he begins to get twinges of settee envy.
Cheers, Alcira

I like the rug - and the colors - but the stuffed snake in the corner makes me want to run away screaming.

I'll take the couch, the man, the color blue, in fact give the whole room. Over the top, we could use some!

27 comments ahead of me? How early do I have to get out of bed to be on time for this party?

My thoughts? It does not make me happy. No, no, not at all. I'll spare you the list of reasons why.

I like the blue color alone, and with the orange. But beyond that, the room leaves me cold.

Not so much...

Tiny man on a sofa! I don't know why but I like this room I really do. Weird, eccentric, clutter just works for me.

Kathy said...

I can't believe I'm saying this...but I like it. (couldn't live with it...but I like it) I'd much rather see that sofa in an entranceway used as a table/statement piece.

ok. who's got the f-u money to put something like this together??

hire designer.

give free reign.

end up looking like a tiny man on a big couch.

Too many sharp objects for my taste. And the oversized sofa? No.

Ailie said...

Cluttered. Also, where would be comfortable to sit in this room? NOWHERE.
