Mrs Woog, always first in and with the BEST answers.
I love you nearly as much as I love Raina.

Oh that is a lovely platform bed...
and the white sheet and pillows are inviting...

Am I weird for really digging this?!?

Seriously, there's some humor in here which speaks to me ;)

Love the bed and the lamp!!!!

Petra Voegtle said...

I am sorry Raina, but this is a clear no - I find it awful. The only thing that I like is the bed.
You know (from my wood carvings)that it's not the subject of the images but they are simply ugly - no aethetics. The wall pieces do not even go well together. This looks to me like a case of interior design where it is more important to give the viewer a face slap than being inspiring. This is drop dead proletarian.

I like how they have diplayed framed testimonials from satisfied customers and other visual aids to allay your fears, of course what you really want to see are their boy scout knot tying badges on display.

MyLittleHappyPlace said...

Um...disturbing.

I like the wood and the industrial lamp/beams on the ceiling and floors.
totally weirded out by the rope thing. However, it does play some sort of visual role that, if replaced, would bring this image into disbalance. I just wish they used something else.

Im cool with everything but the nooses.

I like the simplicity and colors a lot, but I do not care for the nooses. Not against the effort but the execution is pathetic.

I have a knee-jerk reaction to nooses that aren't being used for an industrial or agricultural purpose.

I didn't even enlarge it to see what I'm missing. I'd like it if they took the rope down.

Is that what I think it is, top right of center???? Is this the boudoir of a closeted robe bondage person?

The lamp, the lamp is good.

The furniture, eh, it's boring.

The rest, fucked up. (no, no pun intended)

p.s.- w/v= hatedin, yep, pretty much.

The Designophile said...

Bed, lamp, white floors...good.
Artwork...interesting.
Nooses above bed....questionable.

I wonder what his dates think when he brings them back to his place. I once ran screaming away from a guy who had 5'high cross above his twin size bed (and yes, he was an adult). This is the other end of the spectrum, but still may warrant some running and screaming....

Outside of the obvious (art, nooses, etc), there appears to be no natural light. Is this in the basement? I strongly feel that this is in the basement. So you know, it would be harder to escape, er, make a graceful exit.

my favorite and my best- MFAMB to you said...

i can't notice anything if i am trying to figure out why someone is doing gymnastics above their bed. maybe they are a circus performer and they are practicin'.

I hope there were two designers on this project -- so that they might be hanged together.

If that's what is on display, I want to know what they have in those (particle board look-a-like) cabinets...

There's some freaky shytt going on in this room!!

julietsblog said...

I like the bed, skylight and lamp. The loft space may be nice but the art, I'm not a fan.
Did anyone attempt a caption?

Camilla @ Designalogue said...

Bow to Mrs Woog.

As for the room - I dont hate it. At least it has its own personality.

ticklishfromadistance said...

Ummm.....no, the lamp can't even save it.

Raina Cox said...

Ann, Rex, Genevieve, and 1X1000 - Hello to each of you and welcome to this deliciousness!

Robin - I have no idea the context of this room. None.

julietsblog - No. Fire away!

Jono said...

I am liking the art, but apart from that, all I can think is that the nooses are appropriate.

lemondropdreams said...

How can I follow up Mrs. Woog?!?

Jono said...

Actually, I change my mind. I still don't like the appearance of the room, but the bondage aspect could be fun!

Jessica said...

they've got a Judy Chicago on the wall?

Jessica said...

and that doesn't look like bondage to me, that looks like leverage ...

sherri said...

can we talk about the portrait above the bed? and the framed gonad art? and no bedspread? don't they like to cuddle after the top is done?

I'm just disturbed. But I really like that bed.

Wonder who whipped this room into shape?

Sara said...

I like some of it, but all of it, together, not good. Art in a room should be interesting OR colorful OR serene, but not disturbing. The art here is disturbing. I especially don't like the rope handcuffs hanging over the bed.
Good lamp, cool bed, nice floors.

Raina Cox said...

Anonymous 7:37am - Feel better?

I don't always dislike the interiors I post on "Your Thoughts Please." But I do always post thought-provoking spaces.

Oh, and "successful" people don't leave anonymous hate-filled rants on other people's blogs. At least use your real name, coward.

'Safe Middle Age Taste'? wahahawahahahaa....I think not! If anon wants to see safe middle age taste, go visit my old boyfriend. I'll show you safe middle age taste.

(Do you suppose it was anon's bedroom?)

It is doubly hilarious that Bea the Modern Country Lady chose this post to blissfully give Raina an award.

woah - um, I do not understand why people do this ...

so many things one could say about that whole thing but I'm going to go with this one: I think your photo is delightful, and by that I mean you look delighted!

HAha. I have to say that i have read several blogs that started inspiring some weird hate in me- like their personal bad juju was being sent through the internet wires..

but you are not one of them.

and when i realized that these folks blogs inspired anger in me- instead of seeing what they did next, i just simply deleted from my RSS feed.. and then got on with my life.

Why did this person feel so inspired to leave an awful anonymous vitriolic goodbye message?

and WTF does being THIN have to do with being successful? I could care less about that bitch's first language, her priorities are WIGGIDY WHACK.

ita darling! said...

Oh yeah.. back to the room.. im strangely into it.

I think bedrooms can be the place for displaying some intimate expressions of yourself. I *don't* personally have my gyno take portraits of me- but to each their own. I wish i could read what that crosstitch says- i hope its something amazeballs. OOH! maybe it says "god bless my amazeballs". ?!?!?!

I don't believe those are double nooses, those are for standing with your hands and mayve getting flagelletaed.. hence the lack of bedspread- it's at the drycleaners. I don't know about such things personnally, i think i saw it on that movie "The Crying Game" when i was in highschool. Maybe.

Petra Voegtle said...

Raina, I must say that the "anonymous" (how brave to post without a name!) comment is truly one of the most hilarious compliments for a blog that I could imagine - that person must be full of green mucous for envy - LOL. Apparently my own blogs are that much boring that I have never ever received a vitriolic comment such as that - bummer....
I also must admit that it is sometimes hard for me - as a non-English-mother-tongue as well - to understand your kind of humour but I am close to getting it!
Additionally I must say that someone who picks up a sweet doggie from the shelter for your sweet pea (my assumption) cannot be THAT bad - or?
