Dear Heather Armstrong

Catherine Ledner for The New York Times.

The New York Times hints that you make between $500K and $1 million a year through blog ad revenue, various endorsement deals, and your HGTV contract.  And yet your living room looks like this.

Contact me, Heather.  I'd be happy to decorate your home in a manner befitting a mommy blogger bajillionaire.  Gratis.

Fondles,

Raina

Queen of the Mommy Bloggers [The New York Times]

You decorating Dooce's pad, now that is a reality tv show I would die to watch! Haven't read her blog in a while, but I remember really admiring her.(and that coffee table ain't bad!)

Yep, you should. Perhaps a trampoline could be included in the design to save the ottomans?

I think you're absolutely right, but girl be careful. Dooce's followers can form an online mommy army in less time than it takes to finish a frappucino.

Looking at some of her online photos of her dogs, looks like she has some good bones, wouldn't be tough to make it fabulous. When you get the call, I will be happy to assist! SLC is just a short roadtrip.

Apparently, I've been living up my butt, b/c before I read this article the other day, I had not heard of her (*cue the collective gasps)
I'm just astonished that someone can make that kind of cash talking about their everyday life (and it's not that of a celeb)
Nutso.
Yeah...girlfriend needs a pretty serious home makeover, though.

Course I read a few posts - and thought - "Raina is far funnier..."

Hope she takes you up on that offer of pro bono Lampshade decorno, Rains, the gal could sure use a few design pointers.

When I saw this I was not sure it was her new house or her old house, b/c the photos she has on her blog of her new house look better, but maybe sh shows only the rooms she has tried to decorate (vs just moving the furniture from the old house....)

I think you would totally rock her house! I hope she takes you up on it. I will defend you from the army of haters.

Oh my.

But, really. It needed to be said. Okay, maybe not, but we were all thinking it.

Gratis for someone making upwards of $500K? No.

Secondly, I don't read her but I have seen the before. This is quite an improvement.

I really hate to admit this, I have never heard of her. I mean really isn't this another level of a corporate entity?!

I have an Artful Offering and great Interview at my site.

Don't know who she is either, but that room certainly needs a do-over.

Hand over my mouth, and eyes blinking fast...but that is some major cash.

can you send a hair person her way too because the ugly, mom/dyke hair has got to go!

Anna said...

If you can believe it, she fancies herself a designer... eeeek!

Please do it, Ms. R!

erin@designcrisis said...

Maybe Dooce is just keeping her status on the DL so she can be like all the other moms.

LMAO. You know, I've noticed that people with oodles of money (and $500K to me, is oodles) have crap design taste. It's sooo sad. I guess money really and truly can't buy taste.

You should definitely charge her. Extra. From these pictures, you will most certainly earn it.

Too bad you don't teach writing. She needs that, too.

please include a (tastefully) cushioned landing pad for that flying child...

I don't know who she is but her living room is shitious. She would have to exhibit, I don't know, like some actual style on her blog for me to want to read it.

I'm an old crotchety woman with grown kids and wouldn't give 2 drops of monkey piss just for what she has to say about being a mommy.

coletta and Anna - Hello to both of you and welcome to this deliciousness!

I too have never heard of her or her blog...I am most skeptical about the income...that's quite a range.

As far as the room, I like the fireplace and would love to see you give it some Lampshade style direction....any lamps at all would be most helpful it appears!

Ok, I had to read the comments to even know who she was. But, yes indeed, she needs you to infuse some personality into that pad!

Thought I remembered this from way back when... Did you see Heather redid her living room?

Jessica - I saw that AB Chao visited her recently, so I figured they were cooking up some decorating.
