The one Moroccan interior I don't love

Usually Moorish architecture and Moroccan interiors twiddle my knobs,
but I just want to take a leafblower to this place.

Your thoughts?

Ha! I thought the exact same thing. It's awful. One hot mess. Styled to within an inch of life and nothing about this place feels like a home. Blech.

This is the one Moraccan interior I kind of like. Usually I don't care for anything Moraccan.

I like that color...the pinky/purply one.

Other than that? Blech. Too much.

But I don't know shit.

Indeed, this place didn't float my boat either.
There were some interesting elements, but overall it was too much of a much.

Looks like a cartoon Moroccan interior.

Looks like a bad dream. It's all so cluttered and claustrophobic. Who styled this? The owner?

Your non love is understandable.

A little editing would be welcome here (the rooms, not the writing!). Too much stuff, no where to relax. Need to have a garage sale.

I'm not going to the link. I just hope this place is actually in Morocco?
But I still think it's a mess.

ok, I checked. Morocco.
I still hate it.

I did think such a place existed (given your love for all things Moroccan). But I do agree with you - too much.

When theme-humping goes bad. The pink star tables outside rock the Casbar.

Maybe it looks better in person?.... k

I agree with the posters above about the editing. The picture of the blue wall of mirrors would be a beautiful photo without all the crap. There are all kinds of interesting architectual lines, but you can't see any of it past the clutter.

An American stylist takes on Moroccan style in Morocco.

Ha I agree, at first I thought that was an alien head on the right in the first picture.

my favorite and my best- MFAMB to you said...

its all very contrived.

fiona would call it "scribble scrabble". she uses this term when she colors fast and out of the lines.

My thoughts? Same as yours darlin' same as yours. I've just been sitting waiting for you to see this one (well, ever since I saw it yesterday.

Like I say, my reactions, same as yours. And you didn't even published the silliest photos.

Love the shade of pink, but that room is just not right.

geezus, I'd be afraid everything was going to fall on me!

Wow! When I saw this in the magazine i skipped the entire story. It's all just too much. Too much stuff with too many competing colors and distracting layers (there are good layers and bad layers).

Thanks for saying what I was thinking. Elle Decor can do better.

Yeah, thought the same thing - the whole continent of Africa in one home. You couldn't turn around without tripping over a mask. I did like the bedroom, though.

I just can't get behind the pink walls. And even a hoarder would be skittish around all that stuff. Too much.

I love Moroccan design and live with it in my home, but this seems tobe a caricature of the style, iwith no regard for authenticity.

Well, the terrace is fun.

It looks a bit like a store merchandising Moroccan goods rather than a home decorated with a Moroccan flair.

a leafblower would clean this up in no time.

okay the one thing in the first pic that's bugging me is that the domed part above the mantel (or whatever it is) looks crooked compared to the ceiling light.

Yay, I hated it too. That star motif over and over. They beat it to death.

Raina, I thought of you as soon as I saw this in the mag. A great example of what not to do.

I just admit, I've always wanted one of those African beaded chairs.
And I wish my backyard looked like that. After this horrible freeze we've had, 75% of all my cacti and succulents have croaked!

Get out of my head, please. I love Moroccan style and usually struggle with issues of aesthetic lust versus cultural appropriation, etc., etc. but in this case it is just so off. It's like Morocco by way of the Bellagio. No.
