You know, Anthropologie is on my list of must do's when I visit the US in two weeks. I may just have to revise!

Are you serious? They look so painful and are you sure the , is in the right spot? The first one looks like obstetric forceps.

looks like stumps trying to do the splits. I'm not pleased.

They look horribly uncomfortable and are horrifyingly expensive. Maybe as art but not as furniture.

Eeew. Nothing says comfort like sitting on a...what the heck are they made from anyway?

Anything that squeezes your bottom into that shape is never good. If I were offered that seat in someone's house, I would find a way to stand. So, rock on anthro with that crazy price point.

They are "throwing it up" very gangsterific.

They had to call them "Wishbone Chairs" because if they marketed them as "Somali Birthing Chairs" they sound less romantic...

I wouldn't pay that much for wood; unless is came tanned, shirtless, muscular, and gave foot massages.

I don't see wishbones. I only see speculums. *shiver*

I'm not really in the market for a vaguely pornographic $4000 tree stump, but if I were, I hope you'd consider a mercy killing.

David said...

I hope they mowed down some trees outside Anthropologie HQ and didn't actually buy these. I'm sure even the wholesale price was too much for that hideousness.

Believe it or not, there are still people out there with money to burn, and to top it off, some are dumb enough to spend it on such as this.

did they partner with the pleasure chest to produce these?!

Anthro needs to quit huffing the spray glue and start using it for it's intended purpose-- sticking together the maxi pads and swizel sticks they're using to make next month's window displays.

The Down East Dilettante said...

Oh, you really don't want my thoughts...though they have much more to do with the price than disdain of the chairs, which I could kinda like in the right places

But 3-4k for stumps? Puhleeze. I'm from New England.
