One trick pony

1st Dibs most recent newsletter highlights the design work of rock progeny Jade Jagger and architect Tom Bartlett.  Every single project's dining room features the same Gio Ponti chair.  It's almost as annoying as Vincente Wolf's collection-of-mismatched-chairs schtick.

But still I'd take one of them and paint it dark brown to add to my mismatched chair collection!!

Maybe they were on super sale?

How bizarre that of all things THIS SET OF CHAIRS is the go-to decor item for these folks. Not seeing what is so extra special about them. Do they vibrate? Maybe they own the company's stock?

These spaces aren't blowing my mind the way her louche Ibiza pad and skull jewelry collection did a few years back and yes, the chair repeat is a little enervating. I'd say stick to what she does best -- looking hot whilst lounging in her poolside teepee Spanish-side.
Is Jade gonna make a cameo over at Moonlighting? Hmm-hmm?
Cheers, Alcira

Boring chairs and a little bit ugly. But then everything repeated like that tends to be doesn't it.

Whilst she seems like a nice person, I am not a fan of these creative dipping their toes and fingers into all kinds of pies people. It's weird and unfocussed.

I could look the other way if I liked the chair more.

I think those chairs are atrocious. To be them in every singled dang room they design is monkey-madness!

Oh I meant to PUT them. I'm so upset by those chairs, you understand.

Maybe variety isn't the spice of life after all? It looks like they used the same tables too. Hmm.

I think you can have a signature chair, but it should be A chair and not a set of chairs, and it should be a pretty one. Five animal heads watching me while I do my carnivore thing at the dinner table would make me uncomfortable. Repetition is a design principle, but it shouldn’t be the only one you apply!

Sorry! There are SIX animal heads. The designer in me just assumed they used an odd number. My bad!

A bit like an actor who can only play the same role, no matter what the character is?

Yep, agreeing with you designer sister ~ the most FUN part of being a designer is actually designing to suit the space, the client and the function ~ not just replicating a "signature style" I reckon. Therein lies the challenge.

At least they are more interesting than ghost chairs. And possibly more comfy?

That is odd...maybe she gets an extra bonus for every one sold!

Hmm, now after Alcira's comment I'm curious to check out her Ibiza house...
