Wow. A truer statement could not have been said (or written in this case). I'm at a loss for words.

I am not superstitious, but in this case, I would say that it indeed bad to have an open umbrella inside the house.

Oh my goodness - this looks soooooo ridiculous. How desperate were they??!!??

Oh sorry, maybe I misunderstood this - is this an outdoor chandelier? Then it could be reasonable - hahaha!

I didn't really notice the handle at first. I looked it up and all the write ups say it's "Art Deco" or would fit into a "Surrealist Design". Now that's an interior style I've yet to see!

Julia said...

You know, now that Juliet has pointed out the handle, I actually like it a little better. I mean, it's awful, but I can see the potential of a fun, Magritte-esque umbrella lamp. This, though, is not it... And, frankly, that chandelier is hideous, even without the umbrella. Fussy, fussy, fussy (is there a single surface from which something else is not dangling?) and those horrid little lampshades. Shiver.

You're kidding.

On the plus side, I bet Z Gallerie won't knock it off.

I like the umbrella. I like the chandelier. Just not together!

one clunker in a long career of brilliance is forgivable, so let's not write off mr. stark quite just yet (but yeah- i hear you on this one- there *is* a concept there, it's just ruined by that hideous granny chandelier).

At first, ugly. Then I stared at it a while, then someone pointed out the handle, and it's growing on me. In the right environment (something minimal and large with other weirdly proportioned stuff) it might amuse. Don't fire him...yet.

TN Mimi and not a decorator - Hello to both of you and welcome to this deliciousness!
