Sorry Raina one of those things where you are not supposed to have any thoughts :)

Nice floor.

I kinda like it. Who said ceilings have to be serious anyway?

The ceiling is kind of fun in a not-forever kind of way. My girls would love this in their bedrooms. I'm just not sure about the rest of the room to be honest.

Note to self : do not make bets with 5 year olds that may end like this....

Christa said...

Trying to hard to be edgy, and just looks sloppy...

So much thought was put into the ceiling that the rest of the room was left...thoughtless. Or, you finally arrived at an interior with that leaf blower of yours...

It's fun and frivolous and I like it! However, once the dust starts settling on those pretty paper flowers I'll be climbing that chair to pull them down. The floors, by the way, are awesome, the dishtowel curtains on the other hand, are not.

Statement-y and fantastical....and total dust-catchers.

I have wet dreams about floors like that

great pick me up on a dreary Monday morning.

Who says that all design must be practical and realistic? Look at it as a nice mood setting picture that makes you smile at its utter impracticality and melt at its softness and tongue in cheek charm.

The end :)

ditto nkp. looks like someone had a party, then moved out. like four months ago. but the floors remain awesome. (bet the party was funsies!) xo

Maybe one chair is all this space needs...to sit on and stare at the ceiling.

I guess this is what you do if you have lots of space and too many tablecloths. I like the floor - but the drapery and draping of the chair is just silly.

Bri@Meyouandawiener said...

Floors are so pretty, the chair looks like someone threw their wet towel on top.

As a livable space? No! As a designing art instalation? Maybe, if you read too much into this space.

As someone still struggling to understand the term and feeling a bit snide this Monday morning, I ask...Could this be what "undecorate" is supposed to look like?

and also flower boogers.

Is that cardboard around the wall sconce? Okay, Anonymous, you lost me at "designing art installation." While my young daughters would love this ceiling (and I would work around it), the whole thing is like a bad fine art college flashback. Who knew muslin curtains could be so pretentious?

I love the armchair and stack of books. The ceiling...think it'd be great in a little girls room.

Valerie Wills Interiors said...

Initial thoughts were "yeah, I like it".... but I think I would get bored with it after a while. Not sure I like the curtains either! It all looks temporary!

Why in the world is a birthday cake on the ceiling?

This is what happens when someone with ADD watches that episode of Trading Places when Hildy stapled all those silk flowers to the walls and ceiling of a bathroom, and then switches to the one where Hildy used tea towels for curtains, and then... oh look, a kitten!

WV: doomed. True story.

eurgh... I was liking the ceiling and then it got alarming... the floor is cool too, but the chair! And the curtains! Ick.

Tanya @ Dans le Townhouse said...

I like the feel of this, until I start to pick it apart. Then I start to think about dusting that ceiling ruffle, fussing with the blanket draped over what seems to be an ugly chair. Those curtains would be a nightmare. This room is akin to fancy fashion spreads: lovely to look at, but too impractical for me.

if we throw a bunch of bright crap on the ceiling, no one will notice the towel drying station in the middle of our empty room...

the floors are gorgeous.

hoping gravity and a road-side trash picker-upper will take care of this sooner or lataer.

Pointless... but nice floor =)

Remember the old episode of Trading Spaces when Hildy covered a master bathroom with cemetary-quality fake flowers? Yeah, this reminds me of that.
