First peek at Missoni for Target

Earlier this month, Target announced their biggest designer collabo to date - a 400-piece collection with high-end Italian design house Missoni. Details and designs have been kept tightly under wraps UNTIL NOW. Paparazzi have caught the campaign being shot with model Margherita Missoni, eldest grandchild of the company's founders. She looks to be sporting a headband, dress, leggings and shoes from the Target collection as well as pulling signature zigzag luggage topped with a laptop case.

Missoni and another model with ultra cute tops.

A male model styling in a fab sweater and scarf.

Another male model has the fuzzies.

So, Dumplings, what do you think?  HOT or NOT?

Oh, yeah. So annoying this is all only for you on the other side of the Atlantic!

Hot! And I'm thrilled that there looks to be good stuff for boys, we get left out sometimes.

I like it, but I have a feeling all the dresses/skirts are going to be too darn short for those of us who don't like to show half our thighs on a daily basis.

I have a feeling people are going to be droppin bows for this collection. I suggest y'all wear helmets. I might check it out but the clothe, I is not crazy about.

Jeannine - That, uh, dress would totally be a long tank top on my 5'9' frame.

Bri - The line might provide some awesome hack inspiration. ;)

Lindsey G - Hello and welcome to this deliciousness!

I'm sure I can find a little something to love. We'll have to wait and see. ciao...

Getting nervous... I hope those patterns translate well to less expensive fabrics. I want it to be fabulous, but I'll with hold judgement until I see it in person. That right, I'm withholding judgement...you have no idea how difficult that is for me.

The Missoni dress looks very chic and retro. Don't think I will be able to pull it off but nevertheless, it is a good design. Love the guy's sweater as well.

Looking forward to see more from this line.

I took a class in college called "Fashion and Modern Visual Culture." (Or something like that. I can't remember, it was a while ago.) Anyway, the prof referred to Missoni as "clothing for white people." I love the prints and the louche hippie vibe, but I've never been able to forget that!

eileen - You're showing great restraint.

Rebecca - Bill Cosby might disagree with your professor. ;)

Looks much more interesting than the Calypso line, which was not inspiring.

The luggage is working for me - the clothes, I'll have to see/feel in person.

Ditto the "touching" the clothing sentiment. Some of that nasty polyester doesn't feel too good. Although, Anthro sells poly stuff for $100-plus, so whatever.

I thought I spied a phone cover in her hand too? Maybe? I could definitely go for that. My new Jonathan Adler iPhone cover is already flaking off!

Definitely not! It's just too ugly for words.

the huge headband is great! i'm with the other commenters wondering about how cheap fabric will translate with the missoni look--could end up being very wet seal.

I can't telllllll.. I want a good throw though! I hope they have some decent homey stuff. The print is too large a scale on the luggage. Her shift feels average. His simple black and white sweater might be good for me though. I love her shoes.

I guess I could form a few opinions haha.

Is that jacket in the top pic to the right in the collection (have a feeling that's Missoni proper) in it? If so, Raina I'll be sending cash to you. Lots of cash.
I love MIssoni, but not really liking the brown, it just reminds me of 1970s nylon.

Kate - I've been studying that photo wondering the same thing. My best guess is the jacket is real Missoni, because the person looks short, older and kinda whack-a-doo. Perhaps a handler from HQ.

If I'm wrong (and I hope I am), I will gladly be your personal shopper and shipper.

I've never been more interested in a Target collaboration, but I have the same reservations others have voiced. The luggage really works for me though.

Cute for the kids, but not for moi. Thanks for spelling "peek" correctly! :) Love you! Mo in KCMO (my "word verification is "gasteder"...does that mean I'm an old gasbag for not loving this stuff?) he he

I know it's hard to tell, but from these pics I want it all. I have never purchased from a Target collection before as it always looks cheaper in person, but I will definitely investigate these. Louche hippie is apparently my look. At least in my dreams when I am 30 pounds skinnier and some sort of heiress.

The patterns are all right, but I'm not digging the cuts. It looks cheap.

Definitely hot! Lovely the behind the scenes shots x

I want the laptop bag.

as for the clothes, I'd have to see. the styling in these shots is so over-the-top 1960s, it's hard to tell...

Definitely HAAWWWWWT!!!!

I would kill for that dress... well, maybe not, but I'd try to snatch it while no one is looking ;)

I wonder if Margherita ever has days when she wakes up and thinks "if I ever have to look at another piece of motherf*cking flame stitch again I am going to shoot myself in the head."

DB - Ha ha! She probably wears Liberty of London during down time.
