I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I rather fancy using this room in which to serve those stripey cocktails. Hmm, what were they? Tequilla Sunrise, yes, that's the ones. Wouldn't that be a fun dinner party?

Everybody could wear stripes, and all the food could be stripey. Rainbow jelly, spinach and brie roulade. Oh, what fun!

Clearly no! Simple white slip covers on the chairs and a white lamp and sideboard ...this would potentially fit on a boat or in beach house. But this combination...???

Too much! It looks like a piece of candy................And I do not like the yellow dresser there in the midst of all of it! Yucko! Your thoughts?

That just made my eyes bleed and my head hurt. I'd feel like I was in jail in this room. Why??

they don't deserve that table

barnum & bailey have a breakfast nook. Keep the wallpaper, keep the window treatment. everything else must go back into the clown car.

I second Appletree, and I'll take the Ikea sideboard too while I'm at it.

Hm,

Perhaps plain white slipcovers would've been crisper and more effective, but clearly they're not folks who take themselves too seriously.
Love the table, the vases and that coral candelabra ;)
Cheers, Alcira

I hear a Saarinen Tulip table screaming to be let out! Truly awful!

Are they red stripes? I thought they were white stripes. Meg and Jack would love it.

When I was growing up there was a show hosted by Mr. Peppermint. He wore a red and white striped jacket and his sidekick was a puppet named Muffin.

I see Mr. Peppermint has left TV for interior design. I can only hope Muffin is not shoved in that yellow buffet.

Love the table...it's classic. Everything else must go, unless you're one of the Ringling Bros.

Needs some stripes.

Vertical stripes are slimming on a really fat room.

@ChrisToronto - genius!

I think Willy Wonka married a candy striper and this is their baby.

This made me chuckle, as there are two art pieces in my portfolio which look very much like this room.

But, I'm finding that what's appealing at 24"x24", makes me a little antsy when super-sized.

Despite that, the space certainly looks crisp, fresh and summery, with a nice touch of humor. Or whimsy, maybe?

Holy Stripes Batman, there is at least one stripe too many here!

I'm completely anti-stripe (including most ribbed fabrics) so this boggles my mind.

Damn, late to the party again. Has anyone seen my date? He's wearing a red and white stripe button down---I know he's in here somewhere...........

Laure said...

Ha, it looks like a popcorn box...decor-ified! I do love me some stripes though...

Who invited Willy Wonka to the party?

This room is horrible! It looks like an old-fashioned popped-corn bag.
