This looks very unique, not my style but you have to give props to people who dare to think outside the box.

Holy smoke. I can't even comment on the feature wall - just a bad dream. Is that a sock monkey or Mr. Potato Head on the top right cabinet? Wow.

Appletree said...

Is that a monkey or a robot on top of the cupboard? I need to know, it makes all the difference in my thoughts on this place.

Oh dear God! Where to begin (perhaps w/the sock puppet monkey?) I had no idea that Augustus was so um, feminine-looking.Maybe that's his evil wife Livia?

Ummmmmmm. NO! Why bad art of Emperor Purslip? and I agree what is that thing on the cupboard? I thought somebody might have left a potato up there to rot.

maybe, MAYBE, in a bathroom. Then, at least you'd have the "roman baths" reference, which would be lame, but at least I could understand it.

and it's just in such weird juxtaposition to the twee canisters and flowered teapot...

Is that gilt trim on the cabinets? And what's with the empty space under the sink?

They spent all their money on the mural and couldn't afford to finish the cupboards?

OK we are just waiting for Mount Vesuvius to erupt again- and then thankfully this will be covered under lava ash for the next 2000 years- phew.

I think if you look closer, you will find that is actually Sponge Bob Squarepants holding up the ceiling from the top of the cabinet. Very interesting, indeed. That is one huge sink, too!

Honestly the mural is the only inspired part of the whole room. I'd keep it and change everything else.

So many thoughts, many have been expressed already- but I have to know. Is it the way it is photographed, or is the ceiling really slopping towards the back of the cabinets?

I like the granite shelf. That's all I have to say on the matter. Now, who's going to feed me some grapes?

Lawks, someone's installed a kitchen in Herculaneum.

I could imagine it looking marvellous in a bathroom - as Julia already said - but in a kitchen - definitely no. What a shame and definitely waste of...

Laura, chanda, Starling UK, Deirdre - Hello to each of you and welcome to this deliciousness!

Teri - I think the ceiling really is sloping. My theory is this is the kitchen of basement holiday rental somewhere in the Mediterranean.

Megan - I see what you did there.

Oh! So that's where we left Mr.Wiggles, way up there on the cabinet, in the VIP washroom at Caesar's Palace, that was one crazy night!
