Will no one think of the house?!

 Photo: Melanie Acevedo.

I know I'm late to this gossip party, but J.Crew President and Creative Director Jenna Lyons recently left her artist husband Vincent Mazeau for a woman who reportedly works in the fashion industry.

HAWT.

Mazeau (above right) is seeking custody of not only their 5-year-old son Beckett but also the couple's Brooklyn brownstone. The one whose Domino (RIP) photos are still zinging around the design blogosphere.

Perhaps this is the universe's way of telling us black walls are over.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTT?????????

maybe now that she has to buy twice as many number 2 pencil skirts, she'll bump the prices down.

Maybe black walls are so out they can be considered vintage which means they're really big?

An Urban Cottage - Awesome positive spin on it!

Love that you're back - I hadn't gone to your blog in a while as I thought you were taking a break.

I was just reading the Daily Mail (UK) and saw that the couple had split - and about the pink nail polish..... and the lesbian lover.... AND also drooling over their home.

Bet she'll make a lovely new place though too with black walls ;o)

Valerie Wills Interiors - I was so caught up in the goss factor that I completely skipped over the possibility of a new Maison de Lyons. The bidding war betwixt the shelter mags (both print and online) will be fierce.

Some good has to come of such a difficult situation.

If The Lampshade Fits is my cutting edge information source, thank goodness! I must say the comments here are as much fun as your article and the original. My favorite: "Black walls = vintage" love it!

Say WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAt? Raina, if you’re late to the gossip party, I’ve been living on another planet!

Mr Goodwill Hunting: You made me laugh.

Don't worry the news hadn't reached me here either.

If he gets the house he will have to bachelorise it won't he? And also remove all reminders of his ex wife. So whatever happens the black walls will go.

ps loved the pencil skirt comment. Touche.

Raina, I know. I blinked when the Lyons divorce news came out (same thing with JLo/Marc Anthony) and totally missed it. When I finally read it an hour ago, all could think of was the house!!! I wouldn't give up that dressing room with the fireplace for anybody.

So glad you're blogging again, but this is BIG news indeed.

Gasp oh mighty!
I am late to this party too.
Funny, I just referred back to her home in my files the other day for inspiration.

tres amusing m'love.

Of course, for lil ole me, the real story is that one doesn't have to gut the beejeezus out of an innocent old house to create beautiful modern interiors---that the two can compliment each other.

Have heard of several cases where divorcing couples "condo-ed" their brownstone into 2 nice apartments, one for each,, so Child would not have to be shuttled around. Just think - 2 redo projects plus a well-dressed architect.
