Decoupage darling John Derian's office

Derian contemplates life without Mod Podge.

New York magazine's Wendy Goodman took a romp recently through decoupage demigod John Derian's NYC office. It's about what you'd expect: artfully arranged piles of ephemera, boxes of vintage papers and images stacked high, and chippy paint on every surface.

This is Derian's desk, a six-foot long old farm table.
Somewhere Rachel Ashwell is plotzing and doesn't know why.

On Derian's laptop is a design for his Paperless Post collection of invitations.

My favorite? The OG mood boards - antique interior collages.

All photos by Wendy Goodman.

Oh look, he's working out of a prison cell now.
But how charmingly arranged it all is.
I've always thought this man had the best racket going ever.
And no, this doesn't make me love and covet his overpriced platters any less.
Cheers, Alcira
